Job Summary As Senior Manager Engineering in Data Ventures, you will be leading a team of 10+ engineers for Scintilla / Platform engineering. You will be responsible for delivering the core capabilities that cut across Data Ventures products. You’ll make an impact by: Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing and developing code, conducting unit testing. Communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders. Collaborating with project team and cross functional teams. Troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan. Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause), engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulating an action plan, performing actions as designated in the plan. Interpreting the results to determine further action, performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues and completing online documentation. Provides support to the business by responding to user's questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies). Facilitating resolutions and leading cross-functional partnership. Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business and user experience teams and obtaining cross-function approvals. Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others. Supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer, business needs and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices. Monitoring progress and results and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies, procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans Create software design and architecture for next software solution. This will be your channel to communicate your ideas with rest of the team. Not just one but evaluate multiple solutions Analyze competing requirements and articulate tradeoffs and lead discussions with business and development team, leading white board sessions with team. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs. Developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance. Demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Creates training documentation. Oversees the tasks of less experienced programmers and stipulates system troubleshooting supports. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives. Consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or key stakeholder. Soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness and participating in and supporting community outreach events. Your Responsibility  : Build, develop and guide high-performing talent for the Scintilla engineering team. Engage and guide the team technically. Get involved in design and architecture and hands on coding if required . Define a long-term talent development and support strategy cutting across technology roles. Engage with leadership in SV (Sunnyvale ) , BV (Bentonville ) , Reston, Bengaluru centers and set up strategy and priorities to maintain the platform Own and support delivery for all the features for the global data engineering and platform Create a collaborative environment across geography for delivering best services to the customers around the globe Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Provide supervision, mentoring and development opportunities for associates who report into you.

Requirements

  • 12 - 15 years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems
  • 3+ years of leadership/management experience with a team of 10+ engineers.
  • Hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot , Cloud ( Azure /GCP/AWS ), Kafka (or other messaging service), Memcache d /Redis or any caching technologies , relational DBMS ( MySQL , Oracle etc )
  • Should be hands on writing/reviewing design & code
  • Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.
  • CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project - Experience in building extensible platforms, data pipelines is desirable.
  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
  • Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.
  • Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.
  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
