Job Title: Senior Manager, Skin Science and Scientific Engagement Job Location: Carlsbad, CA

Requirements

  • Engineer or PhD in life science, Pharmacist or MS
  • At least 10 years of clinical research experience and skin modelization within a dermal/cosmetic field
  • Strong understanding of cosmetic development process, skin knowledge and stakeholders network influencing Consumer care business
  • Able to manage multiple projects with autonomy
  • Proven experience of successfully translating scientific information to Dermatologists and other health care professionals
  • Extensive experience in managing scientific communication strategy
  • Experience working cross-functionally and building collaborative working relationships
  • Experience in working in cross-functional project teams including Clinical, skin modelization, Medical, marketing, formulation, analytics and regulatory affairs.
  • Ability to influence others in order to ensure needs from project teams/ Brand strategies are met
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of personnel, with other divisions and departments, both written and verbal
  • Capable of working in a matrix organization, including strong teamwork skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a “can do” attitude is able to take initiative and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Track emerging trends in dermatology and clinical research and identify innovations to drive product development and strategy.
  • Provide expert guidance to Clinical Innovation and skin modelization teams
  • Leverage superior science into actionable claims and product innovation, ensure scientific accuracy in product development and positioning.
  • Support evidence-based claims and compliance with global regulations
  • Adapt scientific dossiers and clinical data for new markets and ensure compliance with regional regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for implementing scientific communication strategies (congresses participation, posters, symposiums, scientific publications) and plans with cross-functional input, ensure timely execution of plan and for managing the publication development process, including review and tracking of individual publications
  • Co-Chair scientific communications strategy team meetings to ensure alignment of communication plans with medical and marketing plans
  • Scientific key contact of the IP department to lead, plan and execute IP opportunities for the innovation pipeline based on in vitro and clinical studies and active ingredients/complex
  • Scientific key contact of Business development representatives to provide scientific expertise during due diligence process.
  • Provide advice and stimulus to the marketing team during the pre-ideation/ideation phases of products development and promotional campaigns.
  • Work with the project research leads, clinical innovation director, skin modelization manager and regulatory manager to ensure clinical literature/data is available to support positioning
  • Train the local medical affairs or local representatives on the science behind the products
  • Support Global Medical affairs team by providing expertise to address questions from their local HCPs and authorities.
  • Provide HCP inputs and represent the dermatological and clinical practice voice in the project team.
  • Coordinate cross functional alignment with local Medical Affairs, Global Clinical Operations and skin modelization experts
