We are expanding rapidly as a platform for Digital Operations Management using AI/ML and Automation and growing our adoption by Development, IT, Customer Service, Security, and other teams across the organization, PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Manager of Security to join our team. As the Senior Manager of Security, you will be responsible for leading and enhancing the security posture of our technology and products. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and IT teams to embed security at every stage of the product development lifecycle. Your leadership will ensure that security remains a core component of our products, supporting our mission to earn and maintain customer trust. This role will provide technical leadership to ensure our product security is effective, efficient, and aligned with our business objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in implementing product security solutions and automation to address security-related issues while effectively communicating and managing security risks across leadership teams. This role is expected to come into our Atlanta office 2 days a week , so you can thrive in your new role and fully embrace being a Dutonian!

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling security teams in high-growth SaaS environments, fostering a strong security culture and leading through change.
• Strong ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences, driving shared understanding and collaboration.
• Demonstrated success leading in fast-paced, dynamic environments, balancing strategic direction with hands-on execution.
• Deep understanding of application and product security, including secure SDLC and threat modeling.
• Expertise in cloud-native security across AWS or Azure environments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience enabling engineers through DevSecOps practices and security automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong ability to translate technical security risks into business context, enabling informed decisions at all levels.
• Experience in securing AI/ML systems and implementing AI-driven security solutions for threat detection and response.
• Solid knowledge of security frameworks and best practices, including FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53
• Prior Software development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, and execute a forward-looking product security strategy that incorporates AI and is aligned with business goals and emerging threats.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in security, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture where team members are empowered to excel and grow.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design, implement, and operate secure systems that protect PagerDuty’s cloud environment and ensure the safety of customer data.
• Build a developer-centric security program, embedding security into engineering artifacts, processes, and tooling for seamless integration.
• Drive complex, cross-functional security initiatives to systematically eliminate common risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring security is “engineered-in” at every stage.
• Develop and maintain technical solutions to proactively address security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities.
• Partner with tech leads and executive leadership to review technical designs and implement architectural improvements, balancing security, reliability, and performance.
• Manage the full lifecycle of security incidents, from investigation to resolution, responding effectively to any security breaches or related events.
• Develop and track metrics and KPIs to measure product security effectiveness, continuously improving security posture and aligning with organizational goals.
