About The Position

The Senior Manager of Resource Management is responsible for managing staffing and scheduling across assigned offices and service lines. This role involves assigning professionals to engagements based on skills, availability, and business priorities, and facilitating regular staffing discussions with leadership to plan upcoming work, address capacity, and resolve scheduling conflicts. The position also focuses on monitoring staff hours, workload, and utilization metrics, delivering reports and forecasts to leadership, and maintaining resource data within staffing systems. Additionally, the Senior Manager will analyze upcoming demand and workload forecasts to support hiring decisions and operational planning, and collaborate with stakeholders to communicate staffing issues, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7 years’ experience
  • 5 years supervisory experience (if applicable)
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • 7 years of experience in professional services (audit, assurance, tax, or resource management).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros), PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and understand utilization metrics.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Integrity, sound judgment, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate or specialty degree preferred
  • Prior experience in workforce planning or managing high-volume staffing demands in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience with resource management systems or workforce planning tools; experience with ProStaff Resource Scheduling Software is highly preferred.
  • Power BI experience is also a plus.

  • Analyze upcoming demand and workload forecasts to support hiring decisions and operational planning.
  • Make informed staffing recommendations based on project requirements, timing, business priorities, and strategic goals.
  • Develop productive relationships with Partners, Managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate staffing issues, risks, and opportunities proactively and professionally.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and support balanced workload distribution.
  • Work regularly with resource management systems and technology tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance data visibility, and streamline processes.
  • Support strategic initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc reporting as needed.
