Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs is responsible for ensuring that all Covista advertising, marketing, public- and student-facing communications for all Covista institutions and business units are written in compliance with state and federal regulatory agency requirements. This includes ensuring that all claims made in advertising and marketing are appropriately substantiated according to Federal Trade Commission and other regulatory requirements, development of related policy and procedures, and training of both internal clients and third-party vendors. The Senior Manager also ensures that all regulatory compliance elements are embedded in day-to-day business processes and functional accountabilities for all Covista institutions and business units to support continued operation and degree-granting authority. These responsibilities are accomplished by 1) engaging business owners in all divisions to develop and implement Covista and external regulatory compliance policies, standard processes and controls; 2) developing and delivering compliance training to reinforce business unit understanding of regulations; and 3) providing timely and meaningful coaching and regulatory advice to senior leadership, management and staff at all levels of the organization. Due to the importance, high visibility of marketing, risks and potential impact related to misrepresentation, the incumbent must have the business acumen to accurately interpret often ambiguous regulations and partner with marketing and operations leaders to accept guidance on marketing practices. These activities ensure regulatory compliant, informed decision making and reinforce institutional compliance obligations touching most areas of Covista operations.
