About The Position

Role summary: As a Remodel Project Management Director (PMD), you will lead the planning and execution of Sam's Club remodel projects from concept through grand opening. You will partner with cross-functional teams including Construction, Design, Operations, Merchandising, Engineering, Finance, and external consultants to deliver high-quality remodels that enhance the member experience while minimizing disruption to club operations. This role is responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, and risk across a portfolio of remodels, driving alignment among stakeholders, resolving complex challenges, and ensuring successful project delivery. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, influences without authority, and is passionate about transforming Sam's Club locations to support the future of the business. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, civil engineering, project management, or related area, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in commercial real estate project management, construction management, or facilities design.
  • Experience managing capital improvement projects, including design coordination, permitting, contractor oversight, and budget management.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with combined capital budgets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail, warehouse, or large-format commercial remodel projects
  • Experience managing projects within occupied/operating facilities
  • Experience mentoring or supervising project management staff.
  • Experience with project management tools (for example, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
  • PMP, CCM, or AIA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of Sam's Club remodel projects from planning through grand opening.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and key milestones to ensure successful delivery.
  • Partner with Construction, Design, Engineering, Operations, Merchandising, and external consultants to drive alignment and resolve issues.
  • Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement by standardizing processes and implementing lessons learned across projects.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver an exceptional experience for members and associates.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards while minimizing disruption to club operations.
