About The Position

Reports to a Director or VP level within DENSO North America Purchasing Group (NAPG) supervising procurement officers or team members, and working across functional and geographic boundaries to support global or regional operations. Supports the development of long-term strategies for the Purchasing function; aligns and executes plans as approved by Purchasing top management and monitors achievement. Develop and deploy sourcing strategies for MRO spend, incorporating market insights, risks, opportunities, and best practices. Leads the MRO Purchasing team for development and negotiation of complex supplier agreements while considering the business needs and obtaining proper approvals. Conduct cost analysis, issue RFPs/RFQs, and secure competitive pricing to maximize total value of ownership while monitoring supplier performance. Maintain an understanding of industry best practices and implement continuous improvement initiatives for MRO procurement (kaizen.) Manage supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards and manages supply chain risks. Ensure compliance with governance requirements and adherence to procurement policies, legal frameworks, and sustainability requirements. Builds strong relationships with both suppliers and internal Purchasing contacts located within North America and Globally; strong collaboration and attention to continuous improvement. Negotiate resolution of difficult situations relative to purchasing activities, both within and outside of the company. Prepares MRO procurement related reports and reviews the reports of others for submission to Purchasing top management and other business executives. Performs Human Resources activities including tracking of time and attendance, associate counseling, scheduling, evaluating work performance and assists in skill development. Fosters high morale and teamwork by supporting the activities of subordinates through daily interaction and one on one contact. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
  • 10+ years of Related Experience
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Strategic mindset and risk management
  • Knowledge of Purchasing procedures and terms and supply chain management
  • Ability to identify and implement system/ process improvements
  • Excellent problem solving and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proven ability to prepare and lead difficult negotiations
