We are looking for a Senior Manager, Program Management to join our CIO Strategy & Operations team. CIO Strategy & Operations brings together CIO Strategy, PMO, Business Operations, and Business Systems to align priorities, govern execution, and provide the platforms and insights that enable the CIO organisation to deliver outcomes at scale. In this role, you will lead a team of project managers and personally own the delivery of high-impact programs that span multiple business domains and technologies bringing both people leadership and hands-on execution to the table. Operating at the intersection of technology strategy and operational delivery, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from conception through to completion. This is a high-visibility position for someone with strong leadership judgement, rigorous program discipline, and the ability to navigate ambiguity at pace.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams of project or program managers, with a track record of building high-performing, accountable teams and supporting individual career growth.
  • Extensive program management experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple business domains and technologies with strong command of scope, timeline, budget, and risk management disciplines.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to operate at senior leadership level, navigate ambiguity, and provide clear, transparent reporting to diverse audiences.
  • A strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution you're equally comfortable shaping governance frameworks and PMO standards as you are rolling up your sleeves to drive delivery at pace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Including conducting regular performance reviews and creating tailored development plans that support each team member's career progression.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable program plans, managing scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and benefits realisation.
  • Lead strategic programmes from initiation through execution, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain governance structures, operating rhythms, PMO standards, tooling, and methodologies to ensure consistency and rigour across the portfolio.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact programme delivery, providing thought leadership to navigate complexity and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across a wide range of business functions, engaging stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and successful program execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for senior stakeholders, providing clear, timely status reporting and maintaining strong communication throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends and develop strong knowledge of the functional areas intersecting the Program Management role, employing the appropriate tools and processes to drive continuous improvement.
