POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an inspiring and hands-on Production Manager to lead our make-to-order manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will build and develop a high-performing Production organization through visible shopfloor leadership, people development, Lean management, and operational excellence. This role is expected to create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration while delivering outstanding performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic leader who enjoys spending time on the shopfloor, develops people, and builds sustainable management systems rather than relying on short-term solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience developing frontline leaders and building high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational transformation initiatives.
  • Practical Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within Medical Device manufacturing.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Food, Automotive or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • CNC machining experience.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing Production organization.
  • Develop shift leaders, supervisors, and frontline leaders through structured coaching, mentoring, feedback, and capability-building initiatives that strengthen leadership effectiveness and organizational readiness.
  • Create an engaging, inclusive, and performance-oriented work environment that promotes ownership, teamwork, respect, continuous learning, and employee retention.
  • Maintain a strong and visible presence on the manufacturing floor, leading through observation, engagement, coaching, and real-time problem solving while reinforcing safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Build a sustainable leadership pipeline within the Production organization.
  • Lead complex operational problem solving through structured root-cause analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability by establishing performance expectations, monitoring results, addressing performance gaps, and recognizing achievement.
  • Lead daily Production operations to consistently achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People objectives.
  • Deploy and sustain Lean Daily Management, including Tier Meetings, Gemba Walks, Visual Management, and Leader Standard Work.
  • Drive sustainable improvements in OTIF, OEE, productivity, quality, and scrap reduction.
  • Use KPIs and structured problem solving to continuously improve operational performance.
  • Build robust production systems that support long-term operational excellence.
  • Lead manufacturing transformation initiatives that improve organizational capability and operational performance.
  • Support industrialization projects and new manufacturing technologies.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement utilizing Lean manufacturing principles, employee engagement, and data-driven problem solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Simplify workflows while increasing flexibility, efficiency, and employee engagement.
  • Build strong partnerships with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other support functions.
  • Promote proactive communication, transparency, and shared accountability across departments.
  • Support new product introductions, process improvements, and strategic site initiatives.
  • Act as a collaborative business partner supporting overall site performance.
  • Define, monitor, and review KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Employee Engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Optimize production resources while balancing customer expectations and operational priorities.
  • Support budget achievement through productivity improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Direct management of Production Leaders.
  • Responsible for building an engaged, accountable, and high-performing Production organization.
