About The Position

OfferUp is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Marketing to join their product organization. This role reports to the Senior Director of Product and is a hybrid of individual contributor and people management. The successful candidate will oversee the product marketing team, execute campaigns, and conduct data analysis to drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate has experience in consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing, traditional go-to-market strategies, and a growth marketing mindset for fast-paced environments. They should be adept at identifying opportunities, acting quickly, and measuring results. The role involves working with data and AI tooling, including LLM agents and self-serve experimentation. A strong foundation in storytelling, positioning, and messaging, combined with a growth operator's speed, is essential.

Requirements

  • 8+ years spanning product marketing, lifecycle/engagement marketing, or growth marketing in consumer tech (marketplaces or e-commerce preferred).
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, and scaling high-performing marketing teams.
  • Depth in consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing (owned push, email, in-app programs with demonstrated outcomes).
  • Traditional GTM craft (positioning, messaging frameworks, end-to-end launches).
  • Growth marketer's bias in a fast-paced environment (comfort with short cycles, event-driven opportunities, incrementality).
  • Working SQL and comfort in a modern data warehouse (BigQuery preferred).
  • Hands-on AI fluency (using LLM tools in real workflows with good judgment).
  • Experimentation literacy (designed and read A/B and geo-based tests, understand holdouts).
  • Excellent, fast writing and clear communication that surfaces risks early.
  • Low-ego, high-ownership approach.
  • Ability to cultivate talent, provide clear professional development, and foster a culture of ownership and collaboration.
  • Track record of leading through influence, aligning cross-functional partners, and navigating complex organizational structures.

Nice To Haves

  • Local or hyperlocal marketplace experience where market-level (DMA) thinking is second nature.
  • Experience marketing around weather, live events, or release calendars (retail, ticketing, travel, resale, or CPG demand planning).
  • Familiarity with CRM/lifecycle platforms (Braze, Iterable, or similar) and geo-based or matched-market measurement.
  • Prompt-engineering or light scripting skills, or experience partnering with data science on forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Turn marketplace supply and demand signals into marketing action, owning the loop from identification to scalable execution.
  • Drive consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing across push, email, and in-app channels for activation, engagement, and reactivation of buyers and sellers.
  • Work both sides of the marketplace: grow supply where demand outpaces it, and demand where supply is abundant.
  • Build repeatable playbooks and a rolling demand calendar with engineering and Data Science for fast and improving recurring opportunity launches.
  • Design and analyze experiments (using Statsig) to measure impact on marketplace outcomes.
  • Own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market launches for product surfaces and marketplace moments.
  • Brief and enable creative, lifecycle, paid, and comms partners with insight-led messaging scalable from national to local markets.
  • Utilize AI tooling and SQL for self-serve analysis, campaign operations compression, and output multiplication.
