The Senior Manager - Product Lead, is responsible for defining and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a portfolio of digital products and platforms. This role partners closely with business, technology, design, data, and operations leaders to deliver high‑impact, customer‑centric solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. The Product Lead core responsibilities include: Product Strategy & roadmap, Product delivery & execution, Operational Excellence, Stakeholder Engagement, Vendor & Risk Management, and Subject Matter Expertise in HR Technology Domain. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of IT solution experience in functional and integrations development role in Workday Technology
  • Deep knowledge of Workday HCM: business processes, configuration patterns, security domains/BP policies, data model.
  • Hands‑on proficiency with EIB, Core Connectors (CCB/CCW), Data Transport (DT), Workday Studio (design/review), BIRT, and Workday Extend.
  • Advanced reporting (Advanced/Matrix/Composite) and Calculated Fields (conditional, lookup, multi‑dataset).
  • XSLT 3.0 expertise for complex transformations within Studio/BIRT.
  • Ability to interpret integration mapping documents, schemas, and REST/SOAP API payloads (JSON/XML) with effective dating and reconciliation logic.
  • Oversight of Workday IAM (role design, SoD, access reviews, audit evidence).
  • Working technical knowledge of integration strategies across Cloud services and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS.
  • Familiarity with AWS (or equivalent cloud solution) patterns: S3 landing/clean zones & versioning, Lambda transformations, SNS/SQS events, API Gateway, Secrets Manager; or equivalent on Azure/GCP.
  • Experience with middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Logic Apps) and event‑driven and API‑based designs.
  • Proven success delivering new capabilities using Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) and SDLC practices and managing complex portfolios with PPM methodologies.
  • Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum, change control, release management, and testing cycles (unit, regression, UAT).
  • Experience with ITIL service processes (incident, problem, change) and SLA/OLA management.
  • Experience working with globally distributed business and IT teams, especially in Japan, EU, and India.
  • Superior presentation skills and executive presence; able to influence, drive action and strategy, and interface effectively with senior leadership.
  • Business analysis excellence in process design, documentation, and problem‑solving activities.
  • Organizational change management, issues & conflict management, and business‑technology innovation/ transformation experience.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving abilities; adept at multi‑factor root cause analysis across configuration, security, data, and integrations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to translate technical detail into business‑friendly language.
  • Ability to travel 10–20%, based on business needs.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; preferably, a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or adjacent fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Life Sciences experience which involves working for a pharma/life sciences organization in HR function
  • Workday certifications (HCM, Integrations, Security, Reporting, Extend, or Workday Pro badges).
  • Experience operationalizing AI/ML in HR/Workday‑adjacent workflows (e.g., using Workday Skills Cloud/Talent Intelligence and external services like AWS AI/ML or Azure Cognitive Services).
  • Experience in enterprise‑scale environments with high‑volume integrations and robust compliance/audit requirements.
  • Familiarity with identity platforms (Okta/Azure AD), SSO, and SCIM provisioning patterns.
  • Exposure to data/analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and BI/report governance.
  • Advanced degree in engineering/sciences/Artificial Intelligence is optimal.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical solution design for assigned Workday functional and technical areas.
  • Lead architecture and design workshops and translate business requirements into scalable, automated Workday solutions.
  • Oversee and guide technical design patterns across Workday tools.
  • Define and maintain architecture decision records, promoting reusability, standardization, and long‑term scalability.
  • Provide oversight to the Workday Identity & Access Management (IAM) framework, ensuring secure and compliant role and domain structures.
  • Drive release impact analysis, identifying cross‑module, integration, and security implications for each Workday update.
  • Validate solutions through testing strategy contributions, including scenario design, regression coverage, and integration-specific validation.
  • Actively partner with HRIS, technical teams, and functional stakeholders to identify and deliver Workday‑based integration opportunities and automation improvements.
  • Support the full application lifecycle and roadmap for Workday, helping to reduce technical debt and maximize modernization opportunities.
  • Own user-based security and compliance, including oversight of integration system user accounts, roles, access controls, and audit evidence.
  • Oversee Workday system stability, health, and performance, coordinating with infrastructure and integration teams to resolve systemic issues.
  • Ensure that Workday integrations, configuration, and security adhere to compliance requirements and remain audit-ready.
  • Maintain system documentation and knowledge repositories including: integration inventory, security policies, configuration rationale and architecture decisions.
  • Make risk‑based decisions on high‑impact changes, ensuring appropriate quality controls, testing rigor, approval workflows, and rollback procedures are in place.
  • Participate in Workday demand intake, contributing to backlog prioritization and emerging solution evaluation.
  • Support and influence Workday governance, including design authorities, decision forums, architecture reviews, and change controls.
  • Coordinate delivery execution by partnering with the IT PMO to plan sprints, track milestones, align cross-functional stakeholders and manage dependencies in an agile delivery environment.
  • Lead release management activities for biannual Workday updates, ensuring proactive evaluation and adoption of new features—including Workday’s emerging AI/ML capabilities.
  • Serve as a Tier‑3 escalation point for complex issues, driving root cause analysis, incident remediation, and problem management.
  • Collaborate with IT operations teams to define and monitor SLAs, performance indicators, and service quality metrics.
  • Assist in managing vendor and partner performance, ensuring alignment to SOWs, deliverables, quality gates, and architectural expectations.
