Apple Ads is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Product Health capability; a mission-critical function at the intersection of engineering, operations, and product. Product Health is the operational backbone of Apple Ads: the team that owns production reliability, drives incident resolution, and translates operational signals into systemic improvements that make the Ad platform stronger. This is a leadership role for someone who thinks beyond reactive support and sees production health as a strategic discipline — one that directly protects revenue, advertiser trust, and Apple's reputation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, site reliability, platform operations, or technical program management
  • At least 5+ years in a people management role.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing teams in production operations, observability, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience owning incident management programs at scale including priority frameworks, SLA governance, RCA processes, and corrective action tracking.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and communication skills; able to represent technical operations clearly to senior business and engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience driving tooling and automation strategies that reduce manual overhead and improve platform reliability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading production health or site reliability functions in large-scale, high-availability advertising or commerce platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted operations — including anomaly detection, automated triage, or AI-generated incident analysis.
  • Background in or strong familiarity with ad tech, including ad serving, attribution, campaign management, or reporting systems.
  • Experience partnering with NOC or equivalent 24/7 operational teams on escalation and coverage models.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the full lifecycle of production issues — detection, triage, escalation, resolution, and systemic learning across all Apple Ads surfaces.
  • Acts as the escalation point for the most complex, highest-stakes issues that affect advertisers, partners, and end users.
  • Sets the standards for how the broader engineering Org responds to, learns from, and prevents production failures.
  • Responsible for the tooling, automation, and partnerships that make the entire platform more resilient over time.
  • Set the strategic direction for this capability.
  • Lead a team of engineers.
  • Represent Product Health at the leadership level across engineering, product, and operations.
  • Define what operational excellence looks like for Apple Ads.
