Senior Manager, Product Design - Product Platform
About The Position
CaptivateIQ is seeking a Senior Manager of Product Design to lead the design efforts for their Product Platform. This platform encompasses the shared capabilities that all CaptivateIQ products are built upon. The role involves leading a team responsible for ensuring these capabilities function as a cohesive and trustworthy system. Success in this role requires strong systems thinking, excellent design judgment, and the ability to influence decisions across different teams. This is a player-coach position where the individual will manage a team of product designers while also actively contributing to high-leverage problems and setting the standard for design quality. The Senior Manager will report to the Head of Design and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership on the platform's strategy and development.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience, including experience with complex, systems-level, platform, or infrastructure-adjacent products.
- 3+ years managing product designers, including senior-level individual contributors, with a proven track record of developing designers.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong product craft, systems thinking, and the ability to simplify technically complex experiences.
- Strong visual and interaction design judgment, with experience setting a quality bar across a team.
- Experience setting design strategy across interconnected product areas.
- Experience building, evolving, or governing a design system.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and a track record of influencing Product and Engineering decisions.
- Technical fluency to engage meaningfully with Engineering on architecture, data models, and platform constraints, and translate those constraints into product decisions.
- Fluency in how AI is changing both product experiences and design practice.

- Experience designing complex B2B SaaS or enterprise products is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead design for Product Platform, focusing on shared experiences that make CaptivateIQ function as a connected system, including navigation, access management, data management, workflows, notifications, and shared capabilities like reporting, AI, and the Quotient design system.
- Lead and mentor a team of product designers, enabling them to own their domains while remaining hands-on with high-impact problems.
- Set the design strategy and maintain a high quality bar for Product Platform.
- Establish and maintain a high standard for interaction and visual design across complex, systems-heavy product surfaces.
- Apply systems thinking to platform decisions, identifying cross-product implications and opportunities for shared patterns.
- Represent Design in roadmap, prioritization, and architectural discussions.
- Build alignment and drive decisions across teams through influence.
- Utilize research, product data, and customer feedback to inform platform strategy and validate decisions.
- Drive the adoption and evolution of the Quotient design system.
- Champion AI-native product thinking and AI-assisted design practices.
