About The Position

This position is for a Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy & Execution within the J&J Surgical Vision team, based in Irvine, CA. Other J&J locations or remote opportunities may be considered for strong internal talent. The role leads pricing strategy, offer development, and contract performance management for US Surgical Vision through strong cross-functional leadership. The individual will play a critical role in defining the future pricing and commercial approach, developing easy-to-use tools, and driving adoption throughout the organization. This role requires strong business acumen, strategic thinking, communication, analytics, cross-functional leadership, and direct team leadership. The position reports to the Director, US Customer Operations and collaborates closely with the Selling and Marketing organizations of Surgical Vision US.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years total experience including 5 years of progressive experience in Analytics, Strategy Development, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Contracts Compliance or Finance is required.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and communication to shape solutions in a complex environment are required.
  • Proven ability to synthesize and interpret data into meaningful recommendations is required.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills including ability to deliver results with others in complex matrix structure are required.
  • Prior people leadership experience, including coaching and developing managers and/or senior analysts, is required.
  • Integration of Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision-making processes is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Med Device and/or healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading pricing strategy, offer development, and commercial decision making in a matrixed organization is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own pricing strategy including the evolution of the pricing and commercial programs in close collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, legal, and HCC with the goal of driving profitable growth while enabling appropriate flexibility and strong compliance.
  • Own the pricing committee, including intake optimization, agenda management, material effectiveness, decision clarity, and documentation in close partnership with key stakeholders and committee members.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive deal desk that partners with sales leadership to shape and influence customer contract and pricing structures to achieve business objectives with a clear handoff to contract operations.
  • Create easy to use tools and processes and then drive adoption throughout the sales organization with appropriate checks and balances.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for contract compliance to ensure accurate and actionable compliance reporting and rebate calculations. Leverage this knowledge of performance drivers to shape future contract offerings.
  • Lead various commercial improvement projects through strong cross functional leadership (examples could include freight, pricing actions, commercial programs, etc.).
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Health Care Compliance to ensure audit readiness, governance integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide ongoing leadership and coaching to an organization of 5 including 1 Manager and 4 Professionals.
