About The Position

As a Senior Manager, Portfolio Strategy & Planning, you will be a strategic partner to the leader of the CAG Dx Business Unit PMO, supporting a broad portfolio that includes Global Reference Labs, Point of Care, CAG Dx Software, and Medical Affairs. In this role, you will support portfolio leadership in driving the key strategic and operational initiatives that enable business growth and transformation. It is a highly collaborative position responsible for advancing enterprise goal tracking, maintaining alignment on key priorities, and enabling cross-functional initiatives across a complex, global business. As the Senior Manager, Portfolio Strategy & Planning, you will act as an integrator and influencer — bringing clarity, focus, and momentum across the organization — and is a primary author of the materials, briefs, and presentations that shape how the business unit communicates with the Executive Leadership Team, the CEO, the Board, and the investor community.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience demonstrating strong functional competence, including structured problem-solving, analytical rigor, and cross-functional business insight
  • Prior experience at a management consulting firm, with demonstrated mastery of hypothesis-driven analysis, executive storytelling, and the ability to operate independently with senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience preparing executive-level materials (ELT, Board, and investor audiences), including a strong track record of building high-impact presentations and briefing documents
  • Demonstrated success leading or contributing to cross-functional strategy, transformation, or enterprise initiatives within complex, matrixed environments
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Highly skilled at analyzing and solving complex problems, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of ambiguous or conflicting information

Responsibilities

  • Partner with portfolio leadership, finance, and HR to increase productivity by driving a cohesive approach to key business activities, including strategic planning, budget development, resource allocation, communications strategy, and stakeholder management
  • Create and maintain systems and processes to ensure effective meeting preparation and facilitation, communication of outcomes, and follow-through on decisions and actions
  • Develop and manage a disciplined agenda for extended leadership team meetings, town halls, and offsites — including topic selection, content management, and tracking and follow-up on action items
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Provide portfolio, business, and sector insights by performing research and structured quantitative and qualitative analyses, often in connection with key strategic questions, competitive intelligence gathering, and executive presentations
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, playing a central role in collecting, interpreting, and synthesizing a wide range of internal and external materials, datasets, and financial information to extract valuable insights, surface recommendations to support decision-making, and shape key messages and content for leadership communications
  • Support the annual portfolio goal-setting process end-to-end
  • Execute and optimize the process — driving rigor around timeline, senior leadership alignment, cascaded distribution, and accountability for outcomes
  • Prepare annual and quarterly reviews and reporting
  • Responsible for crafting materials, briefs, and presentations prepared for the IDEXX ELT, CEO, Board of Directors, and investor audiences (including investor conferences and analyst engagements)
  • Ensure that business unit leadership is fully briefed and that materials are prepared, reviewed, and quality-controlled in advance of internal and external stakeholder activities such as board meetings, ELT reviews, and investor conferences
  • Support the design, development, and preparation of business unit leadership communications, including key messages and presentation materials, with a high bar for narrative clarity, executive polish, and analytical credibility
