About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Portfolio Strategy Optimization, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing credit card revenue and cost optimization strategies. You'll identify opportunities, set priorities, secure alignment with partners, oversee processes and manage projects to ensure the successful execution of scalable strategic initiatives that impact the performance of CIBC’s credit card business. Working closely with a high-performing group of peers and partners in credit risk, collections, marketing and operations, you'll enable flawless delivery of projects that drive business growth and efficiency. Your collaborative approach and strategic mindset will help transform opportunities into impactful results for our clients and the organization. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial services.
  • Experience in credit risk management, collections, marketing, or equivalent roles.
  • Strong data and analytics skills.
  • Skilled in applying advanced modeling and optimization techniques to solve business problems.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as SAS and SQL.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships that promote buy-in for concepts and recommendations across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of multi-year account management portfolio optimization strategies and business cases to drive sustained, profitable revenue growth and reduced losses.
  • Assess and prioritize requirements, communicate priorities, collaborate with partners, develop proposals, present recommendations to senior management, and support the implementation of programs that enhance performance.
  • Use data to develop insights, identify opportunities, and build modern processes for efficient operations.
  • Support the design and delivery of infrastructure to monitor portfolio health, analyze trends, ensure compliance, and source competitive benchmarking to expose competitor strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of risk and account management policies, processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a thought leader and expert consultant supporting revenue optimization for account management risk and fraud programs.
  • Develop and implement robust solutions by managing projects and processes, and partnering with key enterprise stakeholders, including Risk Management, Client Account Management, Analytics & Decision Science, Enterprise Technology, Business Controls, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and others.
