About The Position

This role is part of the Strategic Planning Group within PharmSci Clinical Manufacturing Planning, which is responsible for delivering robust, risk‑appropriate Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP) production plans across Takeda’s clinical portfolio. The Senior Manager contributes to the team’s delivery of critical planning capabilities by owning the development and execution of program-level production plans, ensuring alignment to demand, manufacturing constraints, and supply continuity objectives. This role translates cross-functional inputs into feasible, risk-managed, and decision-ready plans, enabling governance forums to proactively assess tradeoffs and respond to changes in demand, timelines, or supply conditions. Through application of standardized planning rules and continuous improvement of planning practices, the Senior Manager strengthens the operational effectiveness and reliability of the planning function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Pharmacy, Business, or other scientific/technical discipline required

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing production plans, supply scenarios, inventory strategies, or demand/supply balancing processes in a regulated environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of DS/DP planning principles, including how manufacturing constraints, demand changes, inventory posture, and lead times affect supply continuity.
  • Experience applying scenario modeling and risk-based planning approaches to evaluate alternatives, identify constraints, and support cross-functional decision-making.
  • Sound knowledge of GxP requirements and ability to incorporate GMP/GDP/GCP considerations into planning outputs, communications, and escalation decisions.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including ability to synthesize data, identify trends, and generate actionable planning recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and align teams around assumptions, recommendations, and execution priorities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and decision-ready planning materials for governance and leadership review.

  • Translate demand signals, technical inputs, and network constraints into decision-ready production plans, scenarios, and inventory strategies.
  • Lead development of alternative planning scenarios to evaluate timing, capacity, inventory, and cost tradeoffs under changing conditions.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate supply risks and mitigation strategies, and incorporate agreed actions into planning outputs.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders, including CMC, CDMO managers, and GCSC planners, on planning assumptions, recommended actions, and execution priorities.
  • Prepare governance, escalation, and decision-support materials for planning reviews and portfolio discussions.
  • Monitor execution against plan, assess changes in program or manufacturing conditions, and adjust plans proactively to maintain supply continuity.
