About The Position

The Senior Manager, Payroll is responsible for leading and overseeing payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for employees globally. This role provides strategic leadership for payroll operations, systems, compliance, controls, vendor management, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with HR, Finance and external payroll providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 10+ years related Canadian and US payroll experience and experience with international payrolls an preferred asset.
  • Payroll Practitioner designation such as Certified Payroll Manager (CPM), Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation from the National Payroll Institute is required.
  • Demonstrated project management experience delivering medium to large-scale, high-impact initiatives
  • Solid experience with and knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experienced team leader
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end to end payroll operations for U.S., Canadian, and international employee populations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll cycles including regular, off-cycle, bonus, equity, expatriate, and termination payrolls.
  • Lead payroll reconciliations, audits, remittances, and reporting requirements.
  • Develops and implements a vision and plans to optimize payroll functions and position Vantage for future growth.
  • Monitoring and support for ADP Workforce Now payroll system on an ongoing basis, proactively identifying and resolving issues as they occur.
  • Establishes and maintains documentation of payroll processes. Ensures necessary controls are in place to identify and mitigate risks, leverage opportunities for areas of accountability and alert the Director, Total Rewards for critical issues as they emerge.
  • Lead compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll legislation and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.
  • Monitor legislative changes and implement required process or system updates.
  • Lead year-end payroll activities in compliance with local requirements (T4’s, W2’s, accrual calculations).
  • Liaise with the Finance group as needed, including for payroll reviews prior to processing.
  • Manages and oversees supervision of reporting staff team, including coaching, performance management and other people practices.
  • Establish service standards and foster a high-performance, customer-focused payroll function.
  • Lead M&A activities including payroll integration, harmonization, and transition planning.
  • Liaise with third-party benefits providers to ensure accurate invoicing, and to process changes and plan renewals.
  • Lead the enhancement of ADP Workforce Now payroll system, including upgrades, new modules, data conversion, testing and launch phases.
  • Other duties commensurate with the role may be assigned.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $155,000 annually.
