About The Position

Are you a strategic operational leader passionate about driving continuous improvement, mentoring staff, and bridging strategic vision with tactical execution? The Governance and Operations Team is seeking a Senior Manager, Organizational Effectiveness & Strategic Operations to serve as a critical operational lead and liaison, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This role focuses on driving organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement across the Centers of Excellence Network. You will combine strategic project leadership (operationalizing 2-3 key initiatives) with tactical execution, process auditing, and developing robust systems for documentation, impact reporting, data collection, and evaluation. You will also provide direct leadership to the Facilities Manager, Initiative Coordinators, and Operations & Logistics Associate. This position is vital for advancing BCZ CDC's mission and ensuring operational stability. WHAT YOU'LL DO As Senior Manager, Organizational Effectiveness & Strategic Operations, you will lead high-impact initiatives and manage critical operational systems across the Network.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred (and may substitute for two years of experience). You must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in operations management, project management, organizational development, or a related role within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Deep knowledge of organizational effectiveness, process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), and change management is required. Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, compliance, and grant management is also necessary.
  • Abilities: You must have a proven track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and supervising and developing staff. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Smartsheet, project management software, and data visualization tools is required.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification (or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Cross-Functional Liaison & Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between Centers of Excellence Network entities across all four pathways (Strategy, Operations, Culture/Arts, Real Estate). You will translate strategic direction into operational language and surface operational realities to inform decision-making.
  • Warehouse Operationalization: Lead the design and implementation of integrated processes for inventory management, fulfillment, and logistics to efficiently support all sales channels. This includes designing SOPs, implementing systems, and coordinating the hiring and training of warehouse staff.
  • Associates Program and Mentorship: Design program structures, eligibility criteria, and curriculum for Associates and Mentorship Programs, providing training and support for mentors.
  • Program Operations Systems Development: Collaborate with program teams to implement and develop systems in critical areas: Documentation Systems, Impact Reporting, Data Collection, and Evaluation Frameworks.
  • Process Auditing & Improvement: Conduct systematic observation and auditing of organizational processes to identify bottlenecks and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise and provide leadership to the Facilities Manager, including performance management, professional development, and strategic guidance.
