About The Position

The manager understands the specifics of all grants, including timing and structure, budget development, operational staffing for the work of the grant, and any regulatory compliance. The Senior Manager is responsible for the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive program of grants, with a special focus on government grants as well as private foundations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with state, federal and private funders, and a track record of working effectively with clinic, compliance and finance team members on managing a large number of grants and growing evidence-based, fundable programs.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently employed at the Grants Manager at Tepeyac Community Health Center.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in a government health agency and/or health nonprofit. Must demonstrate a proven record of renewing and expanding support from government and private funders, knowledge of federal uniform guidance, especially as it relates to budgets and purchases.
  • Experience working with a grant management database.
  • Oral and written fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for funding opportunities consistent with and in alignment with organizational needs and building on program strengths and successes.
  • Manage grantor relationships through regular meetings, correspondence, facilitation of site visits and in- person and telephone check-ins.
  • Organize and lead preparation for meetings with current and prospective grantors, including briefing of CEO, COO, CHO, and other staff as appropriate.
  • Create and update grant management status reports and summaries to regularly update the Executive team.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact for grantors unless specifically identified otherwise.
  • Work with Finance team and program staff to ensure grant accounting is consistent with grant award. Track payment of grant awards.
  • Complete all grant accounting activities, including time and effort tracking, invoice management, accounts receivable documentation, and overall grant accounting tracking.
  • In collaboration with finance and other relevant program staff, develop and finalize grant budgets.
  • Proactively develop and manage proposals team, deadlines and anticipatory calendar.
  • Serve as point of contact and manage grant writing vendor relationship(s) and edit all contracted proposals.
  • Collaborate with quality, data, and program staff to ensure grant execution and reporting.
  • In collaboration with department directors and compliance ensures that grant-funded contracts follow funder and organization policies and procedures.
  • Work with program staff to develop implementation plan as needed, including leading grant launch meetings.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in support of grant project managers relating to allowable uses of grant funds, budget revisions, extension requests, program amendments, and contract compliance.
  • Provide support on achievement of grant deliverables to include at a minimum, semi-annual check-in meetings.
  • Implement best practices for future partnerships and activities.
  • Represent Tepeyac Community Health Center with partner organizations and at relevant government sector or foundation events and speaking engagements.
  • Supervise Grant Coordinator role to implement and oversee clinical specific grant deliverables, data entry, and compliance
  • Develop organizational grant strategy to address the areas of highest need within the organization, including future growth and expansion.
  • Attend program and project meetings as needed to maintain programmatic understanding.
  • Meet regularly with Finance team and/or department heads to review grant deliverables and finances.
  • Provide data and stories from grants for organizational communication efforts (e-newsletters, annual report, etc.).
  • Develop and implement a contract management system for all vendor contracts, memorandums of understanding, and formal partnerships.
  • Maintain organizational system of contracts and monitor terms and conditions as well as overall compliance, including federal grant compliance.
  • Work with organizational leaders to maintain an understanding of contracts relevant to their departments.
  • Attend required internal meetings, trainings, and events.
