About The Position

The Contracts & Grants Manager leads the full lifecycle management of Treasure Coast Food Bank’s public and private grants and contracts, ensuring compliance, financial integrity, and strategic alignment with organizational priorities. This role provides oversight from pre-award budgeting and contract negotiation through post-award monitoring, reporting, and closeout. The Manager serves as a cross-functional partner to Development, Programs, Finance, and Leadership to maximize funding effectiveness, safeguard regulatory compliance, and minimize financial and operational risk. This position requires strong financial acumen, regulatory expertise, analytical discipline, and exceptional attention to detail. What will the Contracts & Grants Manager do? As Contracts & Grants Manger, you will steward the organization’s grant and contract portfolio to ensure responsible, compliant, and strategic use of funds. You will oversee proposal budgeting, review contract terms, monitor expenditure, manage reporting deadlines, and support audit readiness. You will collaborate across departments to ensure gran-funded activities align with approved budgets and funder requirements. By strengthening internal controls, maintaining accurate tracking systems, and proactively managing compliance risk, you will help protect and expand critical funding that supports hunger relief and community impact across the Treasure Coast.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field required (master’s preferred).
  • Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in nonprofit grants management or government contract administration.
  • Experience managing federal and state funding is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounting systems and grant tracking platforms required.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles
  • Knowledge of federal grant regulations (Uniform Guidance preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of grants and contracts, including review, negotiation, execution, compliance monitoring, reporting, and closeout.
  • Maintain a centralized grants and contracts tracking system.
  • Review and interpret terms and conditions to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and private funder requirements.
  • Serve as liaison with funders regarding contractual and compliance matters.
  • Monitor subrecipient agreements and ensure required documentation is collected and reviewed.
  • Partner with Development and Program teams to prepare compliant and competitive grant proposal budgets.
  • Ensure proposed budgets align with funder guidelines and applicable cost principles (e.g., Uniform Guidance).
  • Assist with development of cost allocation methodologies and indirect cost calculations.
  • Review funding opportunities for financial feasibility, compliance exposure, and sustainability considerations.
  • Monitor grant expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and allowable cost principles.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports and reimbursement requests in accordance with funder deadlines.
  • Track restricted funds and ensure proper accounting treatment and revenue recognition.
  • Coordinate closely with Finance to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable grant regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Support audit preparation related to grants and contracts.
  • Develop and strengthen internal controls and procedures to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Identify potential compliance concerns and proactively recommend corrective actions.
  • Produce regular internal grant status and funding reports for executive leadership.
  • Communicate reporting timelines and compliance requirements to program staff.
  • Support Board reporting regarding grant performance, funding trends, and risk exposure.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned in support of program operations and organizational goals.
