Senior Manager of Business Systems

Jane
$156,000 - $253,500Remote

About The Position

The Head of Business Systems, IT and Data at Jane is hiring a Senior Manager of Business Systems to own the configuration, integration, and stewardship of the systems and tools Jane runs on. This role is crucial for ensuring these choices support a coherent, well-instrumented data architecture. Currently, tools are often configured by functional admins within their own domains, leading to a lack of central oversight regarding purchases, system interdependencies, overlaps, and the downstream impact of configuration decisions. As Jane scales and relies more on data, automation, and AI, a leader is needed to bring rigor, requirements, and a systems-thinking approach to the entire Business Systems landscape. This role will partner with functional leaders to make informed tool selection decisions, establish system configuration standards, and manage the integration layer connecting these systems. The ultimate goal is to enhance the speed of every team at Jane and establish the data architecture necessary for an AI-forward company.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in business systems, enterprise applications, or a comparable function.
  • 4+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Demonstrated track record owning a business systems function at scale in a SaaS or similarly complex software company, ideally one that grew through 500–1,500 employees.
  • Hands-on experience driving business requirements and solution design, including partnering with business stakeholders to understand complex problems, define future-state processes, gather and challenge requirements, and design scalable technology solutions.
  • Direct experience implementing a major CRM (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce), including configuration, integration, and data architecture decisions.
  • Strong technical foundation across modern SaaS tooling (CRM, finance and HR systems, support and ticketing, identity and access, and iPaaS/integration patterns).
  • Experience designing and operating an integration architecture, including making decisions on iPaaS vs. point-to-point vs. event-driven patterns.
  • Experience partnering with Data & Analytics teams on ingestion and pipeline infrastructure, understanding BI and data engineering needs from source systems.
  • Strong vendor selection and procurement instincts, including rigorous evaluation and negotiation skills.
  • A consultative, requirements-first orientation.
  • Excellent influence and stakeholder management skills to align cross-functional executives on shared standards and trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize and operationalize functions from tribal knowledge into disciplined, documented practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build a consolidated view of Jane's tools landscape, including what is being used, where, how it's configured, its cost, and how the pieces fit together (including future roadmap). Identify overlaps, gaps, and consolidation opportunities.
  • Lead tool selection and procurement by partnering with functional leaders to evaluate, select, and procure new business systems, applying a rigorous requirements lens, considering total cost of ownership, and assessing integration and data implications.
  • Partner across the executive layer with leaders in Revenue, Customer, People, Finance, and Marketing to understand their workflows, surface trade-offs, and ensure systems align with Jane's broader architecture.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to business leaders by understanding business objectives, challenging assumptions, defining future-state processes, and translating business needs into scalable systems, data, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Own the configuration and administration of business systems by establishing standards for configuration, change control, and review processes, moving from informal administration to a disciplined, requirements-driven practice.
  • Build the integration and middleware layer, designing and operating the connective tissue between systems (starting with key GTM systems like iPaaS, APIs, event streams) to ensure reliable and intentional data flow.
  • Own data ingestion & pipeline infrastructure by partnering with the Analytics team to ensure data flows are set up correctly, on time, and consistently in both directions: source-system data lands cleanly in the warehouse, and relevant internal apps data flows back to tools as needed.
