About The Position

The Senior Manager of Business Process is responsible for mapping workflows to outcomes and leveraging Jira while maintaining a strategic vision for our expanding SaaS ecosystem. This role serves as the primary owner for our Enterprise SaaS ecosystem, which includes UKG, D365, Ironclad, and specialized rail applications. The company, Cando, provides specialized rail operating services and is the 3rd largest locomotive fleet in Canada. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Systems Analysis or Platform Management.
  • At least 4+ years leading or mentoring analysts.
  • Proven background in the freight rail, logistics, supply chain, or transportation sectors, with a strong understanding of operational lifecycles.
  • Experience configuring Jira Cloud, managing product access, building cross-project automations, and leveraging Atlassian ecosystem features (automation, confluence).
  • Strong theoretical understanding of how SaaS data models, APIs, and webhooks extract data to feed modern BI ecosystems (e.g., Data Lakes, Power BI).
  • Strong proficiency in workflow visualization tools (e.g., Lucid chart, Visio) to map complex, multi-system operational flows.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities of Microsoft Azure or Power BI ecosystems.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-change environments.
  • Strong risk assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Proven leadership and change management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex freight rail operational, supply chain, and logistics processes into highly automated, scalable Jira Cloud workflows.
  • Design and maintain Jira custom fields, permission schemes, post-functions, screen schemes, and advanced native automations.
  • Architect workflows and SaaS applications with the end-state in mind, ensuring data is captured cleanly to support downstream reporting and BI initiatives.
  • Provide post-go-live support and continuous optimization for Enterprise Business Applications including UKG, Dynamics 365 (D365), Ironclad, Concur, and specialized rail/logistics platforms.
  • Partner directly with transportation and logistics stakeholders to extract, refine, and document business requirements.
  • Manage, mentor, and upskill a small team of 2–3 Business Systems Analysts, establishing high standards for workflow mapping and system design.
  • Partner with leadership to explore the "art of the possible" for centralizing SaaS data, helping guide the strategy toward platforms like Azure Data Lake and Power BI.
  • Oversee the team’s intake queue, balancing daily operational support with long-term process-building projects.
  • Act as the strategic bridge between frontline transportation operations, executive leadership, and future technical data resources.
