About The Position

The Senior Manager, Merchandising Planning, leads strategic merchandise planning and financial forecasting to optimize category performance. This role leverages advanced data analysis and visualization tools to drive informed decisions, aligning forecasts with cross-functional inputs. The position requires developing and executing category strategies, managing inventory, and supporting vendor negotiations to enhance profitability. The manager collaborates closely with merchandising and omni-channel teams to anticipate customer demand and improve operational effectiveness. This leadership role also fosters team development while ensuring adherence to company policies and promoting continuous improvement in planning processes. About the team: The Merchandising Execution team ensures optimal product availability across channels, supporting seamless shopping experiences. Collaborating with Merchants, the team translates assortment strategies into actionable plans that enhance inventory productivity, in-stock performance, and financial results. Operating at an enterprise level, the team drives key inventory, service, and profitability decisions. Members apply expertise in inventory management, forecasting, supply chain coordination, and data analysis to optimize product flow and address supply challenges. Their work directly influences customer satisfaction and business success in a dynamic retail environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field and 4 years’ experience in retail, merchandising, forecasting, or related area.
  • OR 6 years’ experience in retail, merchandising, forecasting, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage data analysis and visualization tools to develop actionable insights that influence merchandising decisions.
  • Drive category and subcategory financial forecasting, aligning projections with cross-functional input and market trends.
  • Collaborate with merchant partners to develop and execute category strategies, including assortment, feature, and promotion planning.
  • Support budgeting processes by building financial targets and managing Open to Buy discussions.
  • Analyze vendor performance and provide financial inputs for negotiations and joint business planning.
  • Lead line reviews and modular walkthroughs to assess merchandise performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a high-performing and accountable work environment.
