About The Position

The WMX Finance team supports the global merchandising, artist services, and supply chain within WMX. We partner closely with commercial, creative, and operational leaders to drive financial performance, improve visibility across complex revenue streams, and enable scalable growth across touring, e-commerce, retail, and licensing channels. WMX is seeking a Director or Senior Manager, Global Merch Finance to be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and FP&A processes for the global merchandising organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global Merch Finance, this role acts as the analytical engine of the team ensuring forecasting accuracy, building robust financial models, and providing critical data support to help commercial and operational leaders optimize profitability across a multi-channel global business.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years (for Director) or 5–7 years (for Senior Manager) of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, or Accounting.
  • Hands-on experience supporting merchandising, e-commerce, retail, or multi-channel supply chain businesses.
  • Strong financial modeling abilities, with practical experience calculating IRR, NPV, and ROI for business decisions
  • Proven understanding of core corporate finance principles, including P&L management, forecasting, and cash flow tracking.
  • Direct experience managing, mentoring, or supervising junior analysts.
  • Excellent technical proficiency in Excel, pivot tables and data manipulation.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in music, live entertainment, merchandising, or direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels.
  • Experience working across international markets or matrixed corporate structures.
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA qualification.
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and modern financial reporting/BI tools.
  • Previous exposure to finance transformation, data migration, or process improvement projects.
  • Operationally minded with strong commercial foresight and attention to detail.
  • Highly collaborative teammate who can easily build trust with cross-functional peers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with merchandising, e-commerce, and commercial managers to help track, analyze, and translate business performance against financial goals.
  • Prepare complex financial modeling and analysis for upcoming artist deals and new business opportunities, evaluating IRR, NPV, royalties, advances, recoupment, and profit share.
  • Manage the day-to-day coordination and consolidation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasting cycles, and long-range planning (LRP) for the US merchandising business.
  • Deliver detailed U,S monthly variance analysis and maintain operational dashboards tracking key indicators such as revenue per head, margins, inventory turns, and sell-through.
  • Analyze US tour profitability structures (venue commissions, per-head metrics) and e-commerce performance measurements (conversion, AOV, marketing ROI) to identify optimization areas.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Shared Services to support the monthly US close process, track cash flow forecasting, and ensure integrity in revenue recognition across business models.
  • Support data flow improvements, system enhancements, and finance transformation initiatives to drive automation and scalable reporting solutions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a manager and a financial analyst, ensuring high-quality outputs and clear career progression.
