About The Position

This role is part of the holiday marketing team, focusing on Christmas gifting, décor, and gatherings during the holiday season, as well as Walmart Deals events like Summer Deals and Black Friday throughout the year. As Senior Manager, Marketing Planning and Strategy, you will be the strategic engine behind these key moments, ensuring every customer touchpoint is meticulously planned, flawlessly executed, and deeply resonant. You will contribute to the end-to-end marketing strategy and planning for these high-profile programs, collaborating with media, creative, and company-wide business teams to deliver integrated, multi-moment campaigns that powerfully engage customers. The position involves bringing bold marketing campaigns to life across full-funnel marketing channels, including unexpected activations and surprises for customers. This is a highly cross-functional, fast-paced, and visible role that demands a strategic thinker, a detail-oriented planner, and a collaborative leader.

Requirements

  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to think big and long-term, and also operationalize and execute.
  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing, media planning, and customer journey mapping.
  • Proven ability to influence and align diverse teams toward a common goal.
  • Passion for understanding customer behavior and using insights to drive decisions.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to write a killer brief, build a sharp deck, and present to execs with confidence.
  • Agility & Drive: Comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing strategy, planning, or campaign management.
  • Experience leading large-scale, multi-channel marketing initiatives.
  • Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute toward marketing strategy and lead planning for Walmart’s holiday program, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer insights.
  • Develop and manage marketing activations that account for multiple customer touchpoints, including TV/OLV, high-profile integrations, influencers, affiliates, CRM, SEM and more.
  • Partner closely with agencies, media, creative, site, and merchant teams to bring campaigns to life.
  • Use data and insights to inform messaging, item curation, timing, and channel strategy to meet customers where they are.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, compelling updates and readouts to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with analytics and customer science teams to develop learning plans and insights. Monitor campaign performance and adjust tactics in real-time to maximize impact.
