About The Position

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing leads 24/7 manufacturing operations across Aseptic Filling, Preparation/Cleaning, and Packaging. The role has end-to-end operational ownership for safety, quality, delivery, cost, compliance, and people leadership, ensuring production follows GMP, regulatory expectations, approved procedures, and site standards. It also provides weekend operational support and serves as a key escalation point to maintain continuity across all shifts. The position sets tactical and long-range operating direction, establishes performance and compliance expectations, and provides managerial oversight to line leaders. It coordinates resources and cross-functional support, addresses escalated issues and systemic barriers, and advances operational excellence through continuous improvement. The role manages staffing, labor planning, productivity, and budget performance while supporting teammate development through coaching, feedback, and recognition.

Requirements

Experience leading GMP manufacturing operations in aseptic, pharmaceutical, medical device, biologics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-shift or 24/7 operations, including weekend coverage, escalation management, and cross-functional coordination.
Knowledge of aseptic processing, cleaning practices, packaging operations, documentation practices, contamination prevention, and regulatory readiness.
Proven capability in people leadership, technical problem solving, continuous improvement, operational performance management, and change leadership.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Life Sciences, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide tactical and long-range operational direction for Aseptic Filling, Preparation/Cleaning, and Packaging to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance objectives.
Maintain operational ownership across all shifts, including weekend responsibilities, issue escalation, resource coordination, and decision-making to ensure production continuity.
Establish expectations for compliance with GMP, FDA, Annex 1, ISO requirements, approved batch records, SOPs, contamination-control expectations, and internal quality systems.
Ensure line leaders coach teammates to meet operational and compliance standards, while fostering recognition and accountability.
Set performance expectations and oversee Aseptic Filling, ensuring line leadership has the resources, priorities, and cross-functional support needed to meet daily targets; remove systemic barriers and address escalated issues.
Provide strategic and operational oversight for Preparation and Cleaning, holding line leadership accountable for production readiness, sanitation performance, and adherence to standards; resolve cross-functional constraints and escalated risks.
Direct Packaging performance through clear priorities, governance, and accountability; align resources, remove obstacles, and address escalated issues so line leadership can achieve daily targets.
Drive operational excellence through Lean, Six Sigma, OEE improvement, 5S, visual management, waste reduction, changeover optimization, downtime reduction, and continuous improvement.
Partner with Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse to coordinate production schedules, preventive maintenance, reliability activities, investigations, CAPAs, deviations, change controls, validations, inspections, and new equipment startup.
Develop teammates through timely coaching, feedback, and recognition.
Manage staffing, labor planning, productivity, and budget performance, ensuring appropriate resources for daily execution and long-term business needs.
