About The Position

This position is responsible for leading and directing the Grand Parent Production team to provide quality hatching eggs through strong production performance and flock health status in order to achieve production, financial, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires broad knowledge in a general professional field, normally acquired through four (4) years of college resulting in a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ten (10) or more years of poultry management–related experience.
  • Standard computer skills are required. This position requires working with Excel spreadsheets and data within several other computer applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; and hear.
  • The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • When visiting facilities, the team member is expected to follow required safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • When visiting job sites, which are biosecure environments, showering before entering facilities is required.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company.
  • No jewelry may be worn on job sites except for medical ID jewelry.
  • The team member must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid all avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds).
  • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
  • Manages eight (8) or more salaried team members.
  • Travel is required to all GP facilities within the specified region.
