The Lab & Clinical IT (LCIT) Senior Manager is responsible for the reliable, compliant, and predictable operations of all LCIT‑supported systems and services. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Director of LCIT, this role is responsible for translating strategic intent into operational execution. Supervises LCIT managers, ensuring effective and consistent people management across teams. ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory and an enterprise of the University of Utah and its Department of Pathology. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Requirements

  • Supervises LCIT managers, ensuring effective and consistent people management across teams.
  • Translating strategic intent into operational execution.
  • Ensure stable and predictable performance of LCIT applications, systems, and services by establishing clear operational ownership, enforcing standards, and proactively managing risk and execution.
  • Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance across all LCIT‑supported applications, systems, and services, including maintaining inspection readiness, enforcing validation and documentation standards, and escalating regulatory risks.
  • Monitor work across LCIT teams to ensure end‑to‑end flow, resolving ownership ambiguity and handoff failures as needed.
  • Provide operational leadership by aligning day‑to‑day operations with strategic priorities.
  • Enforce consistent application of operational standards, processes, and documentation.
  • Create and enforce standardized processes to support budget planning, capital requests, and contract management.
  • Provide oversight of vendor relationships, ensuring day‑to‑day operations align with contract terms.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Directly manage and coach LCIT supervisors/managers holding them accountable for predictable outcomes, decision‑making quality, and appropriate escalation, addressing performance or capability gaps as needed.
  • Build relationships and serve as an effective liaison with other IT teams, ARUP leadership, stakeholders, clients, and vendors.
  • Triages, troubleshoots, escalates, and resolves highly complex issues.
  • Represents LCIT in system audits, surveys, and inspections.
