About The Position

This role is for a Senior Manager of Infrastructure & Security who will lead cloud infrastructure, SRE, CI/CD, observability, and security initiatives. The position involves growing and developing a team of engineers, including hiring, mentoring, and fostering a positive team culture. The ideal candidate will be deeply hands-on, possess a bias for action, and actively use AI-assisted tools in their daily workflow.

Requirements

• 7+ years of infrastructure or SRE engineering experience, with at least 3 years managing platform, infra, or SRE teams in a product-focused SaaS environment.
• Production AWS ownership, including running HA workloads at scale with high availability, governance, compliance, and a 24/7 on-call program.
• Infrastructure as code experience, including building and scaling IaC practices using Terraform, and understanding packaging tooling (Helm, Kustomize, or similar).
• CI/CD fluency, including building or owning pipelines in GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
• Observability ownership, including building or evolving an observability stack with alerting, SLOs, and distributed tracing for a production system.
• Incident command experience, including running customer-facing major incidents as incident commander and as the manager supporting the team.
• Application security experience, including embedding security into the SDLC (SAST/DAST/SCA), vulnerability management with SLAs, and threat modeling.
• Cloud security posture management, including owning IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, and CSPM, and hardening an AWS environment.
• Compliance partnership experience, including working with IT on compliance programs (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar) and translating requirements into engineering work.
• Deeply hands-on technical ability, maintaining technical edge while managing teams and earning credibility with engineers.
• Bias for action, defaulting to doing and fixing rather than delegating or waiting for direction.
• Active AI adoption, using AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar) daily for tasks like incident diagnosis, IaC authoring, runbook generation, or log and metric analysis, with specific examples of usage.

Nice To Haves

• B2B SaaS experience with Salesforce coupling, including managed packages, org provisioning, and integration patterns.
• Experience in CPQ, billing, or revenue domains, understanding high-stakes correctness and audit-relevant data.
• Experience standing up a Platform Engineering practice or internal developer platform (Team Topologies, paved roads).

Responsibilities

• Lead Cloud Infrastructure & SRE, including AWS services (ECS, EKS, networking, VPCs, IAM), databases (PostgreSQL, Kafka, DynamoDB), IaC standards, SLOs, error budgets, DR/BCP, and a sustainable on-call program.
• Own CI/CD & Developer Experience using GitLab CI across approximately 150 repositories, focusing on build speed, reliability, test signal, release safety, environments, and paved roads for new services.
• Drive Observability & Cloud Cost management, including a high-signal logging/metrics/tracing/alerting stack, SLO instrumentation, cloud cost attribution by team/service, and FinOps practices.
• Lead Application & Cloud Security end-to-end, covering secure SDLC, SAST/DAST/SCA, vulnerability triage and SLAs, secrets hygiene, IAM, and CSPM.
• Partner with IT to support the compliance program, customer security questionnaires, and pen-test remediation.
• Own the Vendor & Tooling Portfolio, including build-vs-buy decisions, vendor selection, POCs, and lifecycle management across observability, CI/CD, security, and incident management.
• Hire, onboard, and mentor engineers, actively participating in recruiting by interviewing candidates, providing calibrated feedback, and raising the bar for the team.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, provide actionable feedback, and support career development for each team member.
• Build a culture of urgency, ownership, customer empathy, and continuous improvement.
