About The Position

Children's Factory is seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources to lead the day-to-day HR function and serve as a key partner to the President and organizational leaders. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the work. You'll oversee core HR activities including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, benefits and HR administration, compliance, and employee development, while also providing strategic HR support as business needs arise. You'll lead one direct report, an HR Specialist, and be responsible for ensuring the HR function is responsive, consistent, practical, and aligned with the needs of the organization. This role plays an important part in how employees and leaders experience HR across the organization. You'll help managers navigate people decisions, support employees through day-to-day HR needs, and make sure key HR processes are executed effectively. As the head of HR, you'll also have direct access to the President and the opportunity to provide input on workforce needs, organizational changes, and other people-related priorities.

Requirements

  • Progressive Human Resources experience across multiple HR disciplines.
  • Direct experience managing employee relations matters and advising managers.
  • Comfortable working across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, HR administration, and compliance.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, or providing day-to-day direction to others.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism to sensitive employee matters.
  • Organized, responsive, and comfortable balancing multiple HR priorities.
  • Effective communication with employees, managers, and senior leaders.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on HR leadership role where execution is a major part of the job.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving as a senior HR resource in a manufacturing, distribution, or operational environment is preferred.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources function.
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees, managers, and leadership.
  • Guide managers through employee relations, performance concerns, attendance, conduct, and corrective action.
  • Conduct or oversee workplace investigations and recommend appropriate next steps.
  • Oversee recruiting, selection, onboarding, and related hiring activities.
  • Support performance management and employee development efforts.
  • Oversee benefits administration, employee records, HR systems, and other recurring HR processes.
  • Maintain and improve HR policies, practices, documentation, and processes.
  • Lead, coach, and set priorities for the HR Specialist.
  • Partner with the President on workforce matters, staffing needs, organizational changes, and other HR priorities.
  • Provide practical, strategic HR guidance when business needs require it.
