About The Position

This position within RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) supports RTX’s Canada Country Director, Global Government Relations, in representing RTX and its business units before the Government of Canada. The Senior Manager will assist in developing and executing RTX’s government relations strategy and advocacy campaigns to advance business priorities and objectives with key stakeholders. The role involves supporting RTX’s representation with members of Parliament, government officials, industry associations, and think tanks to raise the corporation’s profile and advance its policy and business interests. This role is critical in coordinating policy advocacy, monitoring government developments, and ensuring RTX’s Canadian operations remain aligned with corporate objectives and are optimally coordinated with and supported by the strategies of the three Canadian business units (Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Raytheon Canada). This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Ottawa, and performed in remote.

Requirements

  • University degree with 10 years of relevant experience in government relations, public affairs, or policy roles.
  • Significant experience in government relations, public policy, or related fields within Canada, with a strong track record of effective engagement.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian political institutions, regulatory frameworks, and policymaking processes.
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives (CEO, President, C-suite, or equivalent) and/or policymakers, with demonstrated exposure to strategic, operational, and confidential matters.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, complex schedules, and high-tempo workflows with discretion and precision.
  • Working level proficiency in French and English, including the ability to draft executive-level correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • High degree of judgment, professionalism, and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive, confidential, or politically nuanced information.
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving capability, able to anticipate needs, synthesize information, and support decision-making at the executive level.
  • Stakeholder coordination experience, working effectively across internal teams, external partners, and senior-level counterparts.
  • Demonstrated initiative and autonomy, with the ability to operate independently from the Canada Country Director while aligning closely with executive priorities and collaborating effectively across business units.
  • Advanced proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms, project tracking tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze policy issues, develop recommendations, and communicate effectively to senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with government, industry, and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Canada Country Director in implementing RTX’s comprehensive GGR plan, including advocacy campaigns in defense, aerospace, procurement, manufacturing, research and development, sustainability, export controls, and trade policy, etc.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with parliamentarians, senior government officials, and relevant internal and external stakeholders in Canada to identify opportunities, monitor policy trends, and advance RTX priorities.
  • Track and analyze government and regulatory developments (domestic and foreign policy) that may affect RTX’s interests, providing timely reporting and recommendations.
  • Represent RTX at selected meetings with government officials, industry associations, and policy forums, ensuring consistent corporate positioning.
  • Prepare and coordinate executive briefing materials, policy analyses, and strategic recommendations for the Canada Country Director, RTX leadership, and business units, while managing associated corporate processes, documentation, and governance requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the coordination and execution of RTX engagement across industry associations, government consultations, advisory boards, conferences, trade shows, security forums etc., ensuring strategic alignment with RTX priorities, processes, policies and business unit objectives.
  • Assist in organizing RTX senior leadership engagements with Canadian government officials, including Cabinet members, Members of Parliament, Senior Public Servants and members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
  • Collaborate with RTX business development teams and business units to ensure unified advocacy efforts and maximize cross-business synergies.
  • Contribute to RTX’s external engagement efforts on sustainability, supply chain, R&D, and emerging technology initiatives.
