About The Position

Cargill is seeking a Senior Manager to support its U.S. Government Relations team, focusing on both federal and international policy advocacy. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of policy issues, supporting Directors, and working at the intersection of food, agriculture, and innovation. The Senior Manager will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, engage with policymakers and external partners, and prepare materials for internal and external engagement. The position requires conducting complex policy analysis, supporting advocacy initiatives, maintaining relationships with government and coalition contacts, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of issues including trade, sustainability, nutrition, and innovation, as well as international policy related to Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The Senior Manager will collaborate with Congress, executive agencies, foreign government officials, trade associations, and industry coalitions to shape public policy aligned with Cargill’s business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years of related work experience
  • Ability to support senior leaders and collaborate across diverse teams
  • Ability to synthesize complex policy developments into actionable insights for business leaders
  • Understanding of global trade, sustainability, nutrition, transportation, energy, and/or workforce policy issues
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience on Capitol Hill or trade association

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of food, agricultural, or supply-chain policy
  • Experience working on international policy issues across multiple regions (e.g., Latin America, Asia Pacific, EMEA)

Responsibilities

  • Support Directors on cross-cutting issues such trade, sustainability, nutrition, transportation, energy, and workforce.
  • Organize and participate in meetings, forums and events with government officials to share insights and advance Cargill’s policy priorities.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders.
  • Attend coalitions and trade association meetings to ensure our interests are reflected in policy discussions.
  • Develop internal resources and programs to raise awareness of government actions and their impact on the business.
  • Write executive briefings, policy memos, and manage newsletters to support internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Handle complex issues independently, escalating only the most complex issues as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
