About The Position

This role will manage global supply continuity risk mitigation and cost savings initiatives through key stakeholder collaboration and engagement. Conduct competitive sourcing events, execute supply agreements, lead contract negotiations, develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies. Work in conjunction with Supplier Quality and Sustaining Engineering to conduct: 1) on-site supplier audits 2) supplier business reviews, 3) resolution to any material/service non-conformance (NC), 4) pursue supplier remuneration for financial damages due to supplier negligence.

Requirements

  • BA in Business or BS in Material Science or Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of purchasing experience
  • 6 years direct/indirect strategic sourcing experience
  • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred

  • CPSM certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage direct/indirect teams and assigned supplier spend.
  • Conduct a Supply Base Risk Assessment; use to establish a strategic sourcing plan; execute to plan to mitigate supply continuity risk, ensure high quality materials/services, and effectively manage cost structure.
  • Lead and identify dual sourcing and cost down projects; coordinate with project team to lead and facilitate project execution.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders for idea generation (e.g. Sustaining Engineering, Production, Supplier Quality, Material/Service Suppliers, etc.).
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, negotiation, and process improvements.
  • Conduct Competitive Sourcing events to achieve an annual 5% cost down goal as well as the specified annual Cost Avoidance goal.
  • Negotiate and Execute Supply Agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain, including supplier-related risks.
  • Work with Supplier Quality and Sustaining Engineering on NC/SCAR resolution.
  • Negotiate remuneration for any financial damages to Artivion’s business resulting from supplier negligence.
  • Respond to supplier price increase notifications; negotiate with supplier to mitigate negative cost impact.
  • If applicable, maintain SAP master files, to include but are not limited to: 1) vendor master, 2) information records, 3) material master.
