The Senior Manager, Finance, R&D Global Drug Development position is a key financial position in the R&D Finance organization with responsibility for the financial management of HOCT ( Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy), Neuroscience and Immunology & Cardiovascular (ICV) functional budgets managing spend of $0.3B and 600 headcount . The role will partner extensively with functions leadership teams to provide sound financial advice and decision support. The role includes leading functional budget and projection processes, monthly close activities, P&L analyses, strategic thought partner for LT members and achieving financial goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum education of a bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of finance experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting.
  • Proficiency with U.S. GAAP and general knowledge of business laws and regulations.
  • Ability to prepare and defend financial analyses to support decision making, investigate and conclude on complex accounting issues.
  • Must be able to present concisely and influentially in both oral and written format to all levels of management.
  • Able to use technology to support simplification and standardization of reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HOCT, Neuro & ICV Budget and Projection Activities
  • Key business partner for functional leadership teams.
  • Develop robust analysis to challenge & influence investment decisions and drive/perform analysis for changes in assumptions.
  • Assist and develop detailed operating budget and projections to guide resource planning and allocation as needed throughout Global Drug Development.
  • Understand the resourcing models for the Development teams.
  • Drive planning of meetings and present financial results to key management.
  • Participate in leadership team meetings.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with key stakeholders, including LT members, Chief of Staffs, Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.
  • Lead HOCT, Neuro & ICV monthly close activities, including P&L analyses.
  • Analyze and identify root causes for significant variances.
  • Partner with broader Finance team to coordinate day-to-day work and create a seamless flow of activities including s pecial projects and improvements
  • Support Operational efforts to improve process and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Enable use of various tools to promote use of digital reporting and AI capabilities.
