About The Position

In this role, you will manage DP World Canada's Shared Services operations supporting all terminals and freight forwarding, including requisition to pay and invoice to cash transactions. You will be responsible for the management of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing functions, including integration with banks and accounting subledgers. You will also act as a champion in simplifying integrations with all systems such as Maximo, Zodiac, Oracle, and any other system integrations, while ensuring transactional process efficiency in line with operational service level agreements for the business units being served.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting and an accounting designation
  • Min 5 Years’ experience in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of core financial processes
  • Experience in implementation and improvement of Finance systems and processes
  • Ability to build and manage relationship with stakeholders
  • Leadership skills to motivate & develop staff
  • Fluent in English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in managing a centralized shared service team would be an asset
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall management of the accounts payable function, ensuring vendor invoices are captured and payments are approved on a timely and accurate basis
  • Manage employee expenses and corporate cards process and payments
  • Ensure the accurate and timely billing of invoices to customers in line with tariffs and contracts
  • Manage the collection of all payments from customers and ensure PCI compliance for any credit card receipts
  • Facilitate the resolution of key customer disputes, including escalation with Finance and Commercial senior leadership and chairing the monthly commercial meeting on disputes and receivables
  • Responsible for the integrity of Billing Systems, AP and AR subledgers, including providing support to Controllership team responsible for GL accounts reconciliation against such sub-ledger systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Global HO and ARO polices and ensure respective Finance Ops Canadian polices are up to date with current practices, controls and business landscape
  • Develop and maintain internal controls associated with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing functions
  • Identify and drive process and system related improvement initiatives within the AP, Billing and AR functions that will help increase overall productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of the SSC finance department
  • Collaborate and provide support to Global HO and ARO teams in driving their key strategic finance initiatives
  • Define, refine and measure Finance Operations KPI’s and SLA’s, including development of scorecards to ensure compliance with business unit Service Level Agreements
  • Manage performance of direct reports, including providing mentorship for their professional development
  • Leverage technology and implement system enhancements or new applications as required for efficient operations
