About The Position

Plooto is seeking a Senior Manager, Event Marketing to lead their event strategy from conception to execution. This role involves identifying strategic events, managing budgets, and ensuring flawless on-site delivery. The Senior Manager will oversee various event types, from local lunch & learns to large conference sponsorships, acting as a key liaison between leadership, sales, and marketing teams. This is a high-ownership position with a direct impact on pipeline and customer growth, offering the autonomy to build and refine the event program. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a focus on driving new customer acquisition and supporting existing clients.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, or a related function, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Proven track record of both strategic event planning and detail-oriented, on-the-ground execution.
  • Extreme attention to detail and flawless project management skills.
  • Experience documenting and project managing in Notion and Clickup.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable briefing executives, coordinating with sales, and aligning with marketing.
  • Confidence in operating independently and owning outcomes from strategy through execution.
  • Based in Ontario, with flexibility to travel for approximately 10-15 events per year (75% in Canada, primarily Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, with occasional US travel).

  • Experience in SaaS, fintech, or marketing to accountants/bookkeepers in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Define which events Plooto should attend, sponsor, or host, considering their potential to drive new customer acquisition and support current customers.
  • Evaluate the ROI of owned and sponsored events and collaborate with Demand Gen to determine investment priorities.
  • Build and maintain an annual event calendar that includes local, regional, and national opportunities.
  • Manage the events budget, ensuring investments remain on track.
  • Recommend critical technology platforms for successful event management.
  • Oversee pre-event planning, including budgets, timelines, vendor coordination, booth design, materials, staffing plans, and logistics.
  • Lead on-site execution for events of all sizes, from small lunch & learns to large conference sponsorships.
  • Directly manage owned events such as local lunch & learns, client dinners, and office visits.
  • Prepare leadership for speaking engagements, panels, and other high-visibility event moments.
  • Brief sales teams before events to ensure effective booth staffing and productive prospect/client conversations.
  • Partner with marketing to promote event participation before, during, and after events.
  • Operate independently across the full spectrum of event work, from event selection to execution.
  • Track and report on event performance against pipeline and utilization goals.
  • Continuously refine processes and playbooks to improve event efficiency.
