Position Overview Vantage Data Centers is looking for a Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving strategic improvements in the health and safety of our data centers, advancing a proactive safety culture, and ensuring the protection of our employees and contractors. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with experts in security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to enhance Vantage’s health and safety programs. You will mentor and guide EHS Managers and partner with stakeholders to achieve ambitious health and safety goals. As Vantage expands its global footprint, you will oversee risk mitigation strategies in partnership with construction and operations leadership. This role is critical to maintaining Vantage’s industry leadership in operational excellence, with a strong focus on strategic execution and reporting across all EHS domains. The role requires autonomy and oversight of processes including, but not limited to: Electrical Safety (Energized Electrical Work, Arc Flash) Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) Occupational Noise Exposure & Control Heat Stress & Illness Prevention Exposure Assessment (Industrial Hygiene) Emergency Response Planning Working at Heights Confined Space Entry Heavy Material Handling Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts) Construction-Related Risks (Cranes/Rigging, Trenching/Shoring, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), etc.) Fire/Life Safety Hazardous Substances Handling Waste Management Ergonomics Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Risk Assessment and Mitigation methodology Incident management and Investigations

Requirements

  • A Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related science/engineering discipline with coursework in risk management or safety is preferred, but not required, depending on experience and/or:
  • A minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in EHS is required, including leadership roles with demonstrated success managing complex risk portfolios across multiple sites.
  • Proven ability to lead beyond compliance, driving cultural change and partnering with stakeholders to implement innovative and effective risk control strategies.
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and ensure adherence to health and safety standards, policies, and practices including but not limited to; safety management systems, training, risk assessments, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and oversee health and safety audits across operational data centers and construction sites to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and review comprehensive health and safety plans for emergencies, business continuity, and unique operational events.
  • Oversee safety record keeping and ensure data integrity across all sites.
  • Analyze safety data trends and present findings to executive leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the VDC compliance team, providing expert interpretations and guidance.
  • Identify systemic risks and lead cross-functional teams to implement sustainable controls.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to deliver high-level health and safety guidance.
  • Report to the Director or VP of EHS and serve as the senior point of contact for the implementation and oversight of EHS programs across multiple sites.
  • Lead and mentor EHS Managers to ensure consistency and excellence in policy execution.
  • Own EHS performance metrics and lead the development and execution of annual strategic improvement plans.
  • Conduct and oversee inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead complex workplace risk/exposure assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring global communication and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver advanced regulatory training programs to meet and exceed EHS requirements.
  • Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory changes and standards to ensure proactive compliance.
  • Synthesize safety metrics and present actionable insights to senior leadership to drive accountability.
  • Collaborate with leaders, staff, and contractors to implement scalable and effective safety solutions.
  • Champion a standardized and harmonized approach to EHS across the Vantage portfolio.
  • Regularly present safety performance and initiatives to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
