About The Position
Automotive seating structures senior manager: Automotive seating structure product technical expert. Supervises & leads a group of 3-5 engineers. Leads technical problem solving. Supports manufacturing production issue resolution. Leads product safety technical risk assessment. Oversees & checks technical project execution. Communicates technical status and resolution plans internally & externally.
Requirements
- BSME required
- Must have 10+ years automotive seat structure development experience
Responsibilities
- Leads the team of product & resident engineers (Plymouth, Pune, manufacturing locations)
- Represents the structures engineering team
- Facilitates communication in internal & customer reviews
- Guides & reviews technical issue summary documentation
- Leads critical issue containment & problem-solving activity
- Escalates critical issues
- Communicates directly with manufacturing locations, Adient structural analysis engineers, Adient product safety, Adient engineering leadership, Adient business units, and OEM customer engineers
- Supervises the team
- Facilitates team engagement
- Provides performance feedback
- Flexes and leverages available resources
- Provides mentorship & development opportunities
- Implements company & department initiatives
- Responsible for the team’s technical work product
- Guides issue containment & resolution
- Guides issue prevention and deliverable completion
- Identifies and documents lessons learned
- Approves drawings
- Approves engineering deliverables
- Works with manufacturing to enable efficient mass production
- Works with business unit engineering leaders to ensure team focus & collaboration
- Engages organizational experts for specialized expertise
- Possesses strong engineering analysis skills and ability to apply to product engineering
- Product manufacturing feasibility based on manufacturing knowledge of: Component manufacturing; Stamping, tube bending, wire forming; Assembly processes; welding (laser, GMAW, projection), bolting, rivet forming, general assembly
