Senior Manager, Engineering
About The Position
Webflow is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for building code-native Webflow. This role involves creating a high-fidelity code representation that allows for seamless transitions between visual and code-based workflows, enabling developers to work directly in code without data loss. This foundation will also support a new generation of coding agents capable of understanding and modifying the system. This is a player-coach position, requiring the individual to both manage and mentor a team while remaining technically involved in shaping architecture, resolving design challenges, and contributing directly to the codebase when beneficial for team velocity.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years experience leading engineering teams building developer products, platforms, or technically complex product surfaces
- Strong technical depth in areas like compilers, code generation, language tooling, IDEs, or developer infrastructure to actively shape architecture
- Experience building with AI or agentic systems, or demonstrated ability to get deep in the space quickly
- A track record of turning ambiguous technical problems into systems that customers can actually use
- Comfortable balancing long-term architecture with the pressure to ship and learn
- A leadership style that combines high technical standards with strong coaching and team development
- Stay curious and open to growth — actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI to unlock creativity, accelerate progress, and amplify impact.
Responsibilities
- Set the technical and product direction for making Webflow code-native, including high-fidelity round-tripping between visual and code surfaces
- Lead the integration of coding agents into the Webflow building experience
- Own the developer experience of working with Webflow in code, from core primitives and APIs to tooling and feedback loops
- Turn an emerging problem space into a coherent roadmap, sequencing foundational platform work with customer-facing capabilities
- Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams across Webflow
- Stay technically engaged through architecture, design reviews, prototyping, and hands-on contribution where it has the most leverage
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers while building a high-performing technical culture
