About The Position

Activision Blizzard is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Emergency Management and Resilience. The Senior Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of plans to mitigate the effects of business interruptions, enhance global preparedness, and improve organizational resilience. This role will partner with various stakeholders and lines of business to develop an emergency management and business continuity framework. This position will play an integral part in managing emergency response across international operations, enabling the safety and security of employees and assets worldwide.

Requirements

  • At least 13 years’ experience in emergency preparedness, resilience, or disaster planning.
  • BA or BS desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of emergency management strategies and disaster recovery.
  • Proven experience in managing global crisis situations, including working with international teams and stakeholders to implement comprehensive crisis response strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance crisis response, develop effective communications and response strategies, and rapidly assess potential impacts while ensuring actions remain aligned with internal policies, procedures, and organizational guidelines.
  • Effective management, communication, technical writing, presentation development, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual and stressful circumstances.
  • Strong customer service and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to plan, coordinate and manage staff and operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Degrees in fields such as emergency management, emergency services administration, homeland security, or similar fields desired.
  • Certification from IAEM, DRI, BCI, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of emergency management and resilience programs with stakeholders and business unit leaders.
  • Develop and assist in creating robust continuity plans for critical business functions and essential systems to enable recovery in case of business disruption.
  • Act as a coordinator for global crisis events, working with stakeholders to identify and validate the impact of global incidents and deploy resources swiftly to address international incidents and mitigate risks.
  • Serve as a key advisor during crisis situations, providing strategic direction for employee safety and organizational stability.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including IT, Legal, Finance, HR, Comms, and other operational teams, to create, update, and implement continuity plans.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to encourage buy-in and alignment across the organization.
  • Lead global emergency simulations and training exercises, ensuring employees and key stakeholders are prepared for potential disruptions.
  • Conduct regular tests to evaluate the effectiveness of business continuity and emergency response plans and confirm that stakeholders are well-equipped to execute them.
  • Monitor and track progress of emergency response and business continuity plans, writing reports on testing results, recommended actions, and areas for improvement.
  • Own and manage the global mass communication platform, including system updates, upgrades, configuration, user adoption, and ongoing platform optimization.
  • Develop and maintain global standards, processes, and training to ensure stakeholders are equipped to effectively use the platform for emergency notifications, critical communications, and business disruption events.
