About The Position

This role will sit within the Spacecraft Engineering team at Capella Space. This team contains a variety of engineering disciplines that design and develop the satellite and payload systems. The role involves supporting project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovation of our electrical systems within our satellite.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 12 years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs and systems in a hardware R&D lab environment
4 years in a managerial or leadership role
Proven experience in aerospace systems, or similar high reliability industry, and components is highly desirable.
Understanding of hardware evaluation methodologies, including development of test cases/suites, performance analysis, test automation, and data analysis
Extensive experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, and other test equipment
Experience with I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
Experience designing modern analog and digital electronics
Experience in PCB schematic capture & layout
Experience with Altium designer tools or other similar electronic CAD tools
Experience designing high reliability systems
Knowledge of the PCBA fabrication and assembly process
Familiarity with PLM tools and strong revision control practices
Excellent design and manufacturing documentation skills with attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously by determining and evaluating different courses of action independently
Strong technical communication skills to be used in a highly collaborative environment

Drive continuous improvement in electrical engineering practices and processes.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, including safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
Implement and enforce quality assurance procedures to maintain high standards in all engineering activities.
