About The Position

Reporting to the VP, Financial Planning, the Senior Manager, Distribution Management, Engagement and Programs plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the talent and distribution strategy across the field organization. The role is responsible for optimizing the workforce structure, driving engagement across leadership and field teams, developing thoughtful and dynamic learning pathways and ensuing a seamless communication strategy. The Senior Manager will work in close partnership with the VP, FP National Office to ensure the FP Growth objectives are well aligned to the Distribution Growth Strategy and aligned under our Risk framework. They will also serve as a key conduit, ensuring that the field’s desired evolution is reflected in the actions taken by the FP Strategy & Solutions team.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business; MBA is an asset.
  • Financial Planning field experience and leadership background.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all level
  • Able to deal with significant ambiguity and constantly changing circumstances
  • 10+ years of experience in project or transformation environments.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, talent management and field enablement.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in Practice Management, Talent Management or Career Journey design.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and drive outcomes through positive influence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Distribution Expansion strategy by setting and allocating hiring targets nationwide based on current and projected capacity; develop a comprehensive annual and MTO FTE plan; and manage ongoing reporting.
  • Develop initiatives that enhance employee experiences through structured plans and programs designed to resolve field challenges.
  • Champion the established Career Journey ecosystem across FPDE, FP Direct, and FP Field, addressing unique requirements for support, education, and training to guide colleagues through their professional paths within the FP Business; ensure all documentation remains current and accurately reflects strategic changes.
  • Define and communicate clear career progression pathways for Financial Planners (FPs) and FP Leaders, outlining key milestones and leadership opportunities.
  • Partner with Learning & Development and Practice Management teams to map out necessary accreditation, certification, and licensing pathways to support advancement and role readiness.
  • Design and maintain an integrated training and learning roadmap that aligns with each stage of the career journey; and work with key partners to create and deploy training as required with regulatory changes or evolving business needs.
  • Direct the premises strategy for in-field Financial Planners, which includes making recommendations regarding the retail footprint, managing Wealth-owned offices (FP Hubs), and coordinating FP Direct real estate.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Real Estate team to provide data-driven recommendations for the management and strategic planning of FP Hubs’ footprint; establish the strategic framework for Hub criteria and set standards of excellence for FP premises.
  • Lead the accreditation strategy for financial planners by setting expectations for ongoing registration(s) and accreditation(s) both at hiring and throughout employment; regularly monitor and report on QAFP and CFP completion, and facilitate proactive field communication.
  • Lead the relationship with external accreditation/training partner (i.e. FP Canada)
  • Manage the market titling policy and strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and aligning market titles appropriately with role responsibilities and levels of expertise.
  • Field engagement through events, programs and advisory councils – leading the annual engagement strategy, developing the annual calendar of events and engaging internal/external speakers for content delivery.
  • Own the communication strategy and standards for FP S&S.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with key business partners across various functions, including Business Architecture, Technology, Strategic Governance, Compliance, G&C, Legal, Risk Management, FP Delivery Excellence, and other business lines (PIA, PIC, PB, PT).
