Senior Manager, Digital Marketing

Lean In•San Francisco, CA
•$150,000 - $170,000

About The Position

The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation (SGBFF) works to build a more equal and resilient world through initiatives like LeanIn.Org, LeanInGirls.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program. Lean In, one of these initiatives, reaches thousands of partners, volunteer leaders, and community members globally with free programs and products. A new community platform, Lean In Connect, allows users to start or join peer mentorship Circles, join Networks, or participate as individual members. This role is crucial for building the marketing engine for Lean In Connect and its supporting programs (Lean In Circles, Lean In Girls, and Company Programs). The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing will own the acquisition and retention strategies for these offerings, encompassing go-to-market planning, multi-channel strategy, and advertising for both new and existing products. The position reports to the Head of Product and collaborates closely with Programs and Content leads. The team is lean and utilizes AI for efficiency while maintaining a human touch.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years in growth, performance, or acquisition marketing, with strength in both B2C and B2B.
  • A track record of data-driven marketing and strong analytic skills, including A/B testing, conversion optimization, and independently driving experimentation from hypothesis to results.
  • Experience owning a media budget and deciding channel mix, with evidence of improving efficiency rather than only increasing spend.
  • Experience building and running a go-to-market plan end to end, through public launch to measurable adoption.
  • A habit of testing new acquisition channels before there’s a playbook, staying current with how GEO and AI search are changing discovery.
  • Strong creative instincts, with the ability to write copy and direct design.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills, working with Content, Product, and Comms as a peer and framing performance in terms of both program impact and channel metrics.
  • Proactive communication skills, aligning stakeholders before executing and making it easy for partners to see progress.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive intersectional, inclusive marketing outcomes.
  • A strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Passion for the missions of Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.

  • Design experimentation plans, defining what to test, why, and the criteria for scaling or pausing campaigns.
  • Track and analyze performance against KPIs (traffic, conversion rate, CPA) and communicate learnings to stakeholders.
  • Own acquisition and retention across channels, focusing on bringing people in and keeping them active.
  • Craft and execute a multi-channel marketing strategy, with a focus on social and email, using appropriate levers for different audiences and products.
  • Build marketing campaigns for programs like Company Programs, Lean In Girls, Circles, and Networks.

  • Identify target personas and define audience segments for campaigns, ensuring they resonate with a broad, diverse, global audience.
  • Build and run go-to-market plans for new offerings from concept through launch and post-launch optimization, focusing on growth and conversion.
  • Own marketing levers to achieve stated KPIs for each initiative.
  • Own positioning and messaging for launches such as Lean In Connect, Women in the Workplace, and the Career Coach Chatbot, and partner with Communications on press moments.
