About The Position

The Senior Manager of Digital Manufacturing & Shopfloor Innovation is the site's operational and technical leader responsible for transforming physical factory operations into a connected digital shopfloor. This hands-on people leadership role combines technical execution, program management, adoption leadership, and team development. The role leads the implementation of digital technologies—including a Digital Twin framework, paperless manufacturing solutions, immersive technologies (AR/VR), and connected worker systems—to empower plant operators, improve batch execution, and maximize plant performance. The role owns the site Digital Twin roadmap and demand backlog, leading use cases from intake and prioritization through development, validation, implementation, and benefit realization. It also architects the digital shopfloor experience by ensuring operators have real-time data visibility and connectivity to plant systems. The position leads paperless manufacturing and connected-worker strategies, evaluates and deploys AR/VR technologies, guides change management and adoption, and oversees shopfloor integration and value tracking. It builds and develops a high-performing team and works across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, IT/Data, and Learning & Development. The position is based at Genentech's Holly Springs, North Carolina facility, a planned high-volume drug product manufacturing site with a planned launch in 2028. Relocation assistance is available. The expected salary range for the primary location is $133,400–$247,800. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
