About The Position

The Senior Manager for Design and Construction Projects helps establish, maintain, and plan implementation of company-wide building design standards that meet operational and regulatory requirements. The role supports field operations in identifying and quantifying capital project scopes and budgets and manages implementation of approved capital design and construction projects. It also provides design and construction guidance and support for Home Office development projects and helps field operations maintain Home Office design and construction standards. This position must be based at the Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama.

Requirements

• College degree in Building Construction, Architecture, or Civil Engineering.
• At least 10 years of construction-field experience, with strong emphasis on preconstruction services or estimating.

Nice To Haves

• NCARB certification.
• Healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with Operations to identify and quantify project objectives and scope.
• Assist in analyzing and budgeting same-store development opportunities.
• Implement Home Office design and construction standards.
• Provide project management services for capital improvement and development projects.
• Manage design consultants, owner consultants, contractors, and project schedules.
• Assist with required regulatory notifications regarding project costs and schedules.
• Schedule and hold year-end warranty and follow-up meetings.
• Assist field operations in compiling construction documentation for their files.
• Keep up to date through periodicals, industry-related materials, and associations.
