About The Position

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Technology to oversee the IT infrastructure and productivity systems for their organization of over 200 employees. This is a player-coach role where the individual will manage a small team, perform hands-on work, and develop a scalable service delivery model. The ideal candidate has experience building a mature IT function within a fast-paced security company.

Requirements

  • Experience running an IT or corporate technology function at a high-growth startup.
  • Service delivery mindset with a focus on SLOs over tickets.
  • Deep expertise in Google Workspace and Slack configuration.
  • Security-conversant, understanding security implications of managed tools and ability to implement improvements without disrupting users.
  • Player-coach mentality: capable of setting strategy and performing hands-on work.
  • Experience with SaaS stack rationalization, including reducing complexity and driving adoption of fewer, better tools.
  • Genuine optimism and a builder mentality.
  • High standards for work quality and a drive to achieve them.

Responsibilities

  • Own IT help desk end-to-end, including equipment provisioning, break-fix, SLO definition, and continuous improvement to achieve 60%+ ticket deflection through automation.
  • Manage and mature the productivity stack, including Google Workspace, Slack, email delivery, and essential SaaS tools.
  • Develop and execute an IT strategy and capability roadmap within the first 90 days, reporting on progress.
  • Assess and develop the team through coaching, process improvement, or personnel changes.
  • Rationalize the SaaS stack in collaboration with the Business Applications team to reduce complexity, cut costs, and simplify the employee experience.
  • Establish a service delivery model by defining, measuring, and holding the team accountable to SLOs for core services.
  • Expand the use of AI, automation, and managed services to reduce volume and enable the team to focus on higher-leverage tasks.
  • Act as the cross-functional IT partner, identifying opportunities for technology to enhance the effectiveness of Engineering, GTM, and G&A teams.
