About The Position

As a senior manager of corporate communications at Starbucks, you will help shape and execute proactive and reactive communications strategies that bring the company’s business priorities and Back to Starbucks strategy to life. You will translate complex business and financial information into clear, compelling narratives; drive day-to-day media engagement; and develop integrated communications across earned media, digital storytelling, social amplification, and other modern channels. Working closely with leaders and cross-functional partners, you will bring sound judgment, strong execution, and a collaborative approach to high-visibility business moments in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, financial communications, or related work, ideally for a large public company or high-profile brand.
  • Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex business and financial information into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience executing proactive and reactive media strategies that support company reputation and business priorities.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, including Investor Relations or Finance, on financial communications, earnings-related messaging, or enterprise narratives.
  • Strong relationships with business, financial, trade, or national media, along with sound news judgment and a track record of effective media engagement.
  • Experience developing integrated, earned media-led communications programs that incorporate digital and social storytelling approaches.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and influence across a matrixed organization; experience guiding agencies, project teams, or communications colleagues preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with precise execution, comfort navigating ambiguity, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and execute business communications strategies in partnership with Investor Relations, Finance, and functional business teams, supporting a clear and consistent Starbucks enterprise narrative across earnings, investor events, and key business milestones.
  • Drive day-to-day business media engagement and proactive storytelling that positions Starbucks as an innovative growth company and brings the Back to Starbucks strategy to life in business and consumer media.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business, financial, and trade journalists, identifying timely opportunities to tell the Starbucks story accurately and compellingly.
  • Develop integrated communications plans that use earned media, digital storytelling, social amplification, and data-informed insights to extend the reach and impact of priority narratives.
  • Manage reactive communications for business and financial topics, developing rapid-response messaging and recommendations that help protect and advance the company’s reputation.
  • Develop strategic messaging, talking points, briefing materials, and media content for senior leaders, with guidance from communications leadership.
  • Partner across the global communications function and with cross-functional teams to align messaging, manage workstreams, and deliver high-quality communications against business priorities.
  • Guide agency partners and project teams, and contribute to the development of communications colleagues through coaching, feedback, and shared best practices.
  • Monitor the external landscape, media conversation, and program performance to identify emerging risks, opportunities, and ways to strengthen communications outcomes.
