Reporting to the Director of Content Strategy, the Senior Manager, Content Strategy is responsible for strategic planning and execution of content designed to engage and nurture customers through buying journey. The role will use content as a strategic lever to shape customer perception, strengthen market credibility, and support commercial objectives by building trust, authority, and long-term brand value. This role requires big-picture thinking to connect audience insights, business priorities, brand positioning, and campaign goals. The Senior Manager will translate subject-matter expertise, customer insights, and market trends into compelling thought leadership that differentiates the PPD clinical research business. They will serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams, helping the organization think more holistically about content’s role in demand generation and influence stakeholders across marketing and commercial teams to align on content priorities, messaging, and best practices. The role requires a talented writer and editor with experience creating multiple forms of content, including white papers, blogs, ebooks, infographics, videos, etc. The Senior Manager must understand the difference and relationship between thought leadership and content marketing and their associated activities and messages, develop a deep understanding of customer segments, personas, and journeys across the business, and be comfortable working with SMEs across the organization to leverage their expertise, insights, and capabilities toward meaningful content. Experience with and curiosity about AI-assisted workflows is also expected. The role supports and advances the organizational content strategy designed to build brand awareness and engage and nurture leads and potential customers, partners across the marketing team to contribute to a holistic, integrated content strategy and development process, and works closely with Global Market Development and ABM leads to plug into campaigns and design and draft a universe of content to support objectives. The Senior Manager will advance data-driven storytelling and creation of foundational thought leadership, support the editorial process for content planning and creation across the enterprise, leverage performance metrics and best practices to optimize content and channels, and support the research and development of content strategy guidance and best practices for all channels by creating content strategy documentation. They will develop messaging and content narratives that translate brand strategy and support enterprise-wide capabilities.
