About The Position

The Marketing team is poised for unprecedented growth and opportunity. We're in a very unique position where we've experienced tremendous success but are far from exhausting the whitespace around us. As Manager, Content & Search Marketing, you'll lead a team of content marketers, copywriters, and SEO specialists responsible for ensuring Absorb stands out wherever buyers search, from traditional search engines to AI answer engines. You'll set the standard for creating differentiated, high-value content powered by original thinking, subject matter expertise, and meaningful insights that AI can't replicate. Owning the journey from first search click to sales-ready engagement, you'll use performance data, AI tools, and strong marketing instincts to drive visibility, demand, and measurable business impact.

Requirements

• 8+ years in content marketing, search marketing, copywriting, creative strategy, or a mix, including experience leading a team.
• Exceptional storytelling and editorial skills, with the ability to create compelling content that aligns with audience needs and show your team how to do the same
• You understand how traditional search engines like Google and LLMs like ChatGPT find, evaluate, and cite sources
• You’re results-driven and comfortable in the data. You use it to set content priorities, shape messaging, and report on what the work did for the business, including down-funnel impact.
• You've built AI workflows that got more out of your team without sacrificing quality. And you understand the tools' limitations and know when human judgment and expertise takes over.
• You don't wait to be told what to do or how to do it. You show up with a recommendation, backed by data, insights, and your own expertise, and you hold yourself accountable for the results.
• Experience in B2B, SaaS, or tech helps. If you come from B2C or DTC and you know how to make people care, we can teach you the category.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing direct reports and fostering team growth. You can articulate a vision and get people on board, from peers to leadership to external partners.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with a history of executing content programs at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own our search strategy and execution across traditional search (SEO) and AI answer engines (AEO), so Absorb gets found and chosen wherever buyers research: Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews, Reddit, YouTube, and whatever comes next.
• Create, maintain, and optimize AI workflows that let the team research, produce, and measure more than they otherwise could without sacrificing quality and content differentiation
• Define voice and tone guidelines and editorial standards, ensuring everything we produce is uniquely Absorb and has what AI can't replicate (but will cite): a real point of view, first-hand SME experience, and/or original research and data.
• Own content across the full journey: campaign creative to drive brand awareness, thought leadership to drive topical authority, articles to rank and get cited, and product, solution, and paid landing pages optimized to convert
• Audit what's already published. Refresh what can win, retire what can't, and rebuild the pages that matter most
• Measure visibility across search and AI answer engines, leverage performance and demand data to drive focus and improve results
• Oversee content distribution strategies, ensuring maximum visibility and impact across channels that include web, social, paid ads, creative campaigns, and external platforms.
• Stay current on how search and answer engines change, how they pick and cite sources, and how our buyers research and shop.
